I built 3 free tools for freelancers (rate calculator, invoice builder, late fee calculator)

I built a free toolkit for freelancers after getting tired of guessing my own rates

I've been freelancing for a while, and I kept running into the same three annoying moments: not knowing what to actually charge, cobbling together invoices in a Google Doc, and having no idea what to do when a client paid late.

So I built The Ledger — three small free tools that fix each of those:

  • Rate Calculator — works backward from the income you actually want (not just a random hourly guess)
  • Invoice Builder — clean line items, instant total, one-click copy into an email
  • Late Fee Calculator — tells you exactly what to charge based on days overdue

No sign-up, no email capture — just tools. I went with a ledger/paper aesthetic instead of another generic SaaS look, mostly because I was bored of every freelance tool looking the same.

Would love feedback, especially on whether the invoice tool covers what people actually need, or if there's an obvious 4th tool I'm missing.
