LN 5 Drinking Contest
Maomao has had such a massive character change this volume she doesn't feel like the same character. She's constantly hitting Chou-u, after learning Jinshi is royalty her fear of upsetting nobels goes out the window and is teasing him rather harsh, then there's the drinking contest...
Like how am I supposed to believe a petite young girl out drank 4 grown men who were described as burley. Her blood alcohol content would increase much higher than theirs and "tolerance" doesn't actually change how drunk you get just how you behave. There wasn't any tricks, she just full on drank multiple bottles of wine and was a sober as day. I don't think the author has ever drank
And what happened to her "budding sense of justice" it just felt like she was being greedy, sure it created debt for the village to allow the papermakers to continue leasing the land but it still felt wrong. And even more confusing was instead giving it to the verdigris house

Vulcan shaders taking 30+ minutes to process
Is anyone else using linux having to wait 30 minutes or longer for shaders to compile? I'm on Fedora that gets daily updates meaning I need to wait this amount of time basically every time I try to launch the game
This is the only game that takes an excessive amount of time, is this normal for the linux build atm?
OS: Fedora 44 KDE
GPU: RTX 4080
CPU: i7 13th gen

Anyone else disappointed or dislike Shiratama?
I just read the 7th volume and was excited for a new character, especially since I read that she was a "rival" for Kaju
But her personality is just rotten, at least I thought that way with the official English translation. Everything she says is shallow and calculated to get male attention
The wedding arc also felt pretty forced to me so being disappointed with Shiratama really made this volume pretty underwhelming to me
I did however like the few pages at the end with Kaju being territorial over her little sister status and then complaining to Gon about it later
Edit: sounds like I have a lot to look forward to in the next volume

New fan, I just beat FF2R and playing through 4 right now. I hope the remake was financially successful enough to warrant a resident evil like release schedule with remake and sequel in the pipe line
I know this will be mostly speculation, but what is the community's expectations for the future of the franchise?
