Benchmarking annual fundraising $$$

Hi everyone,

I work for a research institution as a communications and development coordinator. I do not have any assistants or anyone who helps in any way with comms or development.

This research institution is a combination of three universities. Understanding that is key. As it stands, comms is a completely full time job here.

I went on medical leave starting July 1 due to burnout. We had a new ED here since October 2025 and they have blown the wind out of almost everyone’s sails.

Before their arrival, I worked at a base level of maintenance with fundraising which means keeping our current donations flowing each year. We have about 20 donors overall that fund specific programs within our research institution. This is a front facing relationship building job in development. The donors and I are very close because of this and the trust is solid.

My new ED is feeling a bit upset that the donors are coming to me instead of them. They are having secret meetings with the donors about reporting requirements (which I manage).

My new ED is also saying I am not fundraising enough. For the past two years, I have brought in close to $700,000 in donations for programmatic support.

Again, I am just trying to manage here. My boss is saying we need to cultivate new donors. I agree but I am fully at capacity here and I think $700k is great for someone who is doing fundraising and comms alone.

My question to you all: Is 700k low for a singular fundraiser? Please be honest with me if the number is low. i just want other opinions on this.

Just came back from a spontaneous trip in the DR and realized EXACTLY who I am!

Omg y’all. I’ve been on several trips in my lifetime but for some reason, this trip made me realize exactly who tf I am! Have been struggling with my confidence and mental health due to a toxic job.

Has this happened to anyone before? My job became super toxic because of leadership transition. I have been retaliated against since January for FMLA and my creative work has been overtly scrutinized. And yes, she is of Caucasian descent 🙄

My mom asked me to come with her very spontaneously and honestly at first I was NOT with it. I like to plannnnn okay? But she knew I have been going through a lot all year and mom knows best.

Girllllll I came back from this trip like b**** f*** you! And I got two job offers!

Biggest career lesson I learned is that your output does not equate to your value! Hard work is rewarded with more work and it is ok to be sensitive about your creative work! Sometimes the bottom line of it all is that your value is not seen because you’re in the wrong rooms!

Aquarius ex friend/ex boyfriend. Won’t return sentimental things

Hi,

I’ve known this guy for 11 years. It mostly consisted of platonic friendship, then some FWB and we decided to give it a go in a full blown relationship when he moved to my city.

There are so many things we have done together and there have been physical items that came from some of our dates. There is a caricature of us that I really want. He has always refused to give it to me for the 9 months we dated. We broke up at the end of this past March.

Now that we are broken up, I am a bit confused on why he won’t give it to me. He hasn’t been returning my texts.

I don’t want anything else but that because it’s an encapsulation of a beautiful day. I don’t fully understand how Aquarians deal with emotions. Looking for insight? I am a Libra woman if that helps.

Desperation Peaks

Look f*** it man, I am the only one I know that listens and adores trip hop.

Are any of you in the Maryland area? I’d love to make music friends or have a listening party in the future!
