Vanessa or Chiara

We are down to two names for our baby girl:

Vanessa and Chiara (an Italian name, pronounced kee-AH-ra).

Our last name is Italian and starts with an S. She'll be half Italian, one-quarter Portuguese, and the rest a mix of European backgrounds.

We're hoping for a name that feels spunky, adventurous, bright, Mediterranean/international sounding, earthy, fun, and easygoing. We live in Northern California.

Which would you choose and why?

Vanessa Capri vs Vanessa Lucia

Hi everyone! We’re planning to name our daughter Vanessa, and our last name is Italian and starts with an S.

Which do you like better:

Vanessa Lucia

or

Vanessa Capri

And why?

Thanks!

Vanessa Capri, Vanessa Ray, Vanessa Rae, or Vanessa Riva

Hi, we need a middle name for our 3rd daughter.

What is your preference? Vanessa Capri, Vanessa Ray, Vanessa Rae, or Vanessa Riva

Riva is Italian meaning shore or riverbank (pronounced REE-vah)

Our last name is Italian and starts with an S.

Please me know what you like, why, or if you have any other suggestions! Thanks!

Need help naming our third daughter… stuck between Vanessa and Gianna

My wife and I are expecting our third daughter and we’ve somehow made this way harder than the first two. For months we’ve gone back and forth between Vanessa and Gianna as the first name. The issue is… Gianna is already our second daughter’s middle name, but we love the name.

Vanessa feels more distinct and maybe ages really well, but Gianna has this energy and warmth that keeps pulling us back in.

We tend to like names that feel warm, confident, earthy, a little Italian/Mediterranean, maybe slightly artsy without being too trendy.

Curious: Is reusing Gianna as a first name okay?

Would genuinely love outside opinions because our family is completely split on this.
