I (20M) have an older brother (26M) who I never had a relationship with, because he would always exclude me from him growing up and never cared to ever form a relationship or being the sibling I always wish I had. He would always dismiss me and constantly separate himself from me and never once ever tried to be open and understanding about myself and the problems I was facing growing up, especially during my high school years. Whenever I was facing problems as a teenager or had problems with my parents, my brother would mock me and laugh at me instead of being supportive and being someone who will listen when I needed it the most. He would always act like he's superior and never wanted anything to do with me nor did he ever make efforts to form a connection that i've always wanted. Now, I barely ever see him and when I do, I sometimes feel like throwing up, even though that should never be happening, every time I do see him and want nothing to do with him and my life. I don't have any positive feelings towards him and I don't think he cares for me either. I never felt like we were siblings in the first place.
I had my 4th driving test today and I failed for braking hard when merging lanes causing the car behind to take action and now I have to wait another two months for another attempt. I didn't notice the lane was ending and that I had to merge, so I acted too late. My family is quiet angry and upset and I just don't feel like driving anymore after 4 tries, but I still want to get my licence. I don't know how to solve my problem anymore.
Next year, kids born in 2014 will become teenagers, and with a lot of yous as potentially being college graduates soon, what is one piece of advice you would give to a person born in 2014 or the class of 2032/2033 when they enter their teen years and what do you think they should do differently from you based on experience?
Back in 2019, so about 7 years ago, my older sister (born in 1994) got married at the age of 25 and during the time of her marriage, the thought of being 25 felt so distant to me, because I was only 13 back then when she got married (12 years between us) and so my life in my 20s was the last thing I ever thought about as a middle schooler. Now that i'm 20 with 7 year passed since her marriage, I just realised that my older sister was only 5 years older than me right now when she got married and in only 5 more years, I will be at the age she was at during her marriage, yet I don't see myself getting married at age 25, although I still do hope to be in a serious relationship by then. It's shocking when I think about that and something I still want to refuse to believe that I will be the same age as many of the "grown ups" I once saw at that wedding.
