What kind of questions do fintech startup founders usually ask in Product Designer interviews?

Have a 30 min interview tomorrow with the founder of a BLR based fintech startup for a Product Designer role.

Background: Currently working on consumer products and trying to switch into fintech.

In the first round, they gave me an assignment on their product and asked:

• Which user journey felt confusing?

• Which flow did you like the most?

• What features/fixes would you prioritise in the next 2 months?

I submitted it, and now the founder scheduled a short call.

The startup raised pre-seed funding last year. They already have a founding designer

Wanted to ask people who have interviewed with early-stage fintech startups/founders: What kind of questions should I expect in this round?

Would really appreciate any advice ,product thinking, fintech-specific questions, or what they usually evaluate in 30 mins.

Got frustrated paying $20 just to remove "Made with lottielab" watermark, so I built this

Lately I’ve been learning motion design and spending a lot of time in LottieLab.

Honestly, the tool is great. Super smooth experience compared to traditional motion tools and I finally started enjoying making animations.

But there was one thing that kept annoying me every single time.

After spending hours making an animation, exporting it would add a “Made with LottieLab” watermark unless you buy their $20/month plan.

And as someone who’s still learning, building side projects, and experimenting with ideas… paying that much just to remove a watermark from my Lottie animations felt painful.

Especially when:

* you only need exports occasionally

* you’re still a student or indie maker

* or you just wanna test ideas quickly

* or you are learning motion design

At one point I literally stopped learning motiion design because the watermark ruined the final output and paying monthly for one small thing felt impossible to justify.

So out of pure frustration, I built a tiny tool called Lotiq that removes the watermark for free.

Made it mainly for people like me who are learning motion design and don’t wanna get blocked by any watermark

Attached a short demo video showing it working.

Youtube video : https://youtu.be/tUqVg1VzoRo?si=NJTXl064lMobaXTH

If anyone wants to try it: https://lotiq.vercel.app/

Would love feedback or feature ideas from people who work with Lottie animations regularly.

While working with Lottie animations, I noticed something annoying.

Even tiny edits like:

  • changing a color
  • adjusting spacing
  • replacing text
  • removing an element

meant going back to the motion designer again and again.

Not because the work was hard. Mostly because tools like LottieFiles or LottieLab are still built around motion timelines and animation layers, which most PMs, devs, marketers, or designers in teams don’t wanna touch.

So I built a small tool called Lotiq.

The idea is simple:
Teams should be able to make small safe tweaks to Lottie files themselves without breaking animations or interrupting the motion designer every time.

Still early, but it’s already saving a lot of back and forth in our workflow.

Would genuinely love feedback from people working with Lottie animations regularly.

▲ 18 r/Stutter

I’m 24M and I’m really struggling with something that’s starting to affect every part of my life.

My resume gets shortlisted, but I keep getting rejected or ghosted in the first round. The main issue is my stammering. I’m not able to introduce myself properly, and when I tell recruiters about it upfront, most of them either stop responding or reject me after the initial call.

All my friends are earning well and moving ahead, and I just feel stuck. It’s honestly very depressing because I know I have the skills and potential, but it feels like everything is getting wasted because of this one thing.

I tried speech therapy around 2 years ago, but I couldn’t continue because of the cost, and the therapist was also quite strict which made it harder for me. I really want to fix this, but I don’t know how.

I also make weird facial expressions when I stutter, and that’s made me really conscious. I avoid looking at myself in the mirror. When recruiters call, sometimes I don’t pick up. I end up texting later with some excuse and ask if we can continue on text instead.

Because of this, I’ve stopped socializing. I mostly stay in my room, avoid events and gatherings, and don’t really talk to new people. Even when I meet someone, I just smile and nod because I can’t express myself properly. I want to show respect and connect with people, but I just can’t. And people consider me rude or arrogant but i am not !

I haven’t been able to make new friends or build any relationships. Back in college, I used to act like I couldn’t speak at all and relied on hand gestures just to avoid embarrassment.

I really don’t know if I’ll be able to overcome this or not. Has anyone here gone through something similar? Any suggestions or experiences would really help.

Been noticing this pattern a lot in Bangalore startups.

Great branding, strong hiring, big announcements…
but internally people seem burnt out or disconnected.

Is it scaling too fast? leadership? or just how startups are built here?

Would love to hear from people who’ve actually experienced this
