BYD Seal u dmi - Netflix

Hi all, is there anyway to get Netflix on the seal u, I’ve only been able to download YouTube but was wondering if there’s a way of getting Netflix on the car, as some of my public chargers take over an hour to charge up the car so would be good to have access to something while I wait

Pengam green houses

Hi all,

Been looking at buying a house however I noticed Pengam Green seems quite cheap for the type of house available, is this quite normal or is there something happening in this area?

What are current residents thoughts in this area?

Some people have said the area value is going down due to flood risk and also due to traveller camp moving across to lamby way soon? Is this true or just speculation.

BYD rear left passenger door locked

Hi all, I accidentally turned on the emergency lock in one of my passenger doors thinking it was the child lock (old car it could be done from the front) so unsure what I was doing. So I ended up locking the emergency lock door button now I can’t get it open from either side. Is there way I can open this myself without taking it to the dealer as I’m afraid I’ll get charged for this?

EV charging - terraced house

Hi all,

Does anyone know the ruling of ev charging in Cardiff if you have a terraced house and no drive. I was thinking of charging on street, charger through window through pavement using ramp cable protectors. Public charging is too expensive. I know some councils have been trialing Kerbo Charge however Cardiff doesn’t have that which I is very annoying.

Anyone in similar situation or any workaround?

Considering buying Used BYD Seal U

Hi everyone,
I’m seriously considering buying a used BYD Seal U Boost instead of a brand-new one. I’ve seen a few 1-year-old examples with around 10,000+ miles advertised for £23–24k, and it works out to be almost £100 per month cheaper than buying new.
I was hoping to hear from people who have actually bought a used Seal U.
How has your experience been compared to buying new?
Have you had to replace or repair anything, or has it been trouble-free?
I understand the second-year service at BYD is around £500. Has anyone paid that, or have you found a reputable independent garage that can service it for less without affecting the warranty?
Overall, how is the car holding up? Are you still happy with it, and is there anything you wish you’d known before buying?
Any advice, ownership experiences, running costs, reliability feedback, or things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Considering purchasing Seal U DMI

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking about buying a BYD Seal U DM-i and would really appreciate some real-world feedback from owners.

A few questions:

* What fuel economy are you getting when you regularly charge the battery compared with when you don’t charge it at all?
* How exactly does the self-charging mode work? Does it mainly recharge through regenerative braking, or does the petrol engine actively charge the battery while driving?
* If you never plug it in and mostly rely on petrol and self-charging, is it still economical? Roughly how much are you spending on fuel each month?

For context, my usage would be:

* One motorway trip from Cardiff to London and back each month.
* Occasional Amazon Flex/food delivery driving.
* Daily family use with two young children.

I currently drive a 2020 Audi A4 petrol and spend around £300–£400 per month on fuel. For anyone with similar driving, what sort of monthly fuel costs would you expect with the Seal U DM-i?

I’d love to hear honest experiences, both the positives and the negatives. Thanks!

TOS violation - professionalism

So got a email regarding the above.

How many of these do you get before you are booted off.

I had an interaction with depot staff I didn’t think it warranted a report however it’s done. My question is going forward what if they have a vendetta against me and keep reporting me now, has that happened to anyone?

Can a depot get you banned?

Had a bit of a kick off today with a staff as they accused me of coming late when it was the Kiosk person that made me late. They denied me a route even though I checked in. Had a bit of a kick off when them didn’t directly swear at them but did swear at the situation in my car as I drove off not sure if they picked that up. Question can they report you to Amazon flex and get you banned. My standing is almost perfect apart from that?

Considering buying a Seal U

Thinking of buying a BYD Seal U (approved used, ~1 year old, ~10k miles).

Mainly want feedback on real-world efficiency and running costs. I’d be using it for deliveries (Amazon/side gigs), possibly taxi work later, and as a family car.

Also:
Has anyone bought one approved used? Any issues?
Anyone running one without a driveway? How practical is on-street charging? I was told some people use a 3-pin charger from the house out the window to the pavement — is that actually workable/safe in reality?

Open to honest experiences.

Also is there a big difference between the boost and comfort

Started off with £1 and a couple of referrals

As the title suggests, now I’m in £200 and invested in AMPX.

Just for context referrals took me to about £120 then invested in rocket lab took me to £200 now sold. At AMPX rn what does everyone think? I’m got my actual ISA but this is money I can afford to lose!
