Is it just me but in our ils forms, our cet percentile is taken to be an aveage of our pcm percentiles, because in mine it is. As in my percentile is 96, but the application automatically took the avarage of my PCM percentiles and gave 93, which is lower than mine. Is this with everyone?

that's what some elder told me yesterday, really got me wonrdering man, questioning what am i doing in engineering, why am i doing all this? do i even want to do? do i just seek this for money which i dont even know where and how will it flow? you may/ may not consider this propaganda to yk maybe decrease competition or something, but honestly that's just what i feel.
Made me rethink this whole journey from even studying some bit fro mhtcet then getting my result and filling options, So naturally i worked on it!
I read reviews, lots of reviews- not the ones from reddit ( i hate my college ones) but actual contacting students, reading quoras, tracking linkedin profiles of alumnis, and each of them reflected different things; Avg. packages told me the scenario of college, but linkdein showed me exceptions while reddit showed me the dark side, but mostly quora really represented the most authentic one
The, true, long term experience from thousands of senior professionals, not just about college but the very soul and nature of our branch we choose. So in the long term even if college is top one but branch is not what you want, then you're gonna have a hard time- that's a thing i learnt fs. (one even said "throw a pebble, you'll either hit a rock and or a civil engineer" sad tho, but they very nature of that job is such so yes)
Second, if you don't know where you want to go- don't just blindly go into cs saying ai this ai that, only reason could be that cs gives you the freedom to explore and change if you want to, for other branches.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY- TRUST YOUR GUT- YOUR OWN INSTINCT- THE MOST AUTHENTIC ADVICE I CAN EVER GIVE IG.
Third, If you know youre gonna do engineering in span of next 10 years, then first prioritize branch or if you want to explore your options, just consider a better college- the only balance imo. yea but cs is definately crazy to me, but it'll all be self driven btw in the end.
Wouldn't keep it too long, just felt stressed so thought take it all out on reddit as usual :(

Branch kaisi h? just like someone asked for mechanical earlier, can anyone please share EntC ki heirarchy in mumbai colleges. Past me there was some negitive feedback regarding entc branch, faculty, abroad further studies ke baad wala job scope exists or still would have to switch to IT/CS? And in general doubt regarding this field, does it have less demand isliye high paying jobs nahi hai or theyre only available much easier out of india after doing masters or so, what's the scene overall.

From what ive heard, extc is quite math rigorous and like an evergreen branch, not in terms of pure placements but, abroad admissions scope vise.
Is this true in context of dj? How is the branch overall in short?
In case of a credit incompletion, how are the minor hons. Options like ai or data science along with the degree. Are these things practical along with extc?
Hows college environment overall in terms of faculty and student nature, facilities, research scope etc.

What the actual eff was this paper??? what kind of research aptitude did they effing check aur ek baat batao reap me chemistry???? Lingo crypt pyari number series DI DS Blood relation ye sab logical nahi hota kya. I felt I solved like JEE advanced paper if it were more on unprectible and ugee side. Bhai look at last year ka paper- the difference is crazy; that one was so more easy logical and actually made since why it was the way it was unlike 2026. As usual the JEE toppers clear the cutoff and they have 5-6 options while the person who solved so many mocks mg,iiitprep rankersvision etc etc, wasted money on comprehensive courses- RELIED ON THIS EXAM for what? After all it's the JEE rankers which qualify and still put iiith as their 3rd backup option while the one who truly tried to analyze and predict and study logical portions failed- BHAI integral calculus, PnC ke aur saval, ktine saare topics aapne skip hi kar diye- bhar ke chemistry pooch di bc ye kya bakwaas tha. REAP just felt like SUPR PRO MAX/ JEE ADVANCE FOR THEORY 90% PCM- ye kya bakcohdi hai- ham kya hai bhai- THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MY LAST HOPE- sincerely analyze karke padhai kari- in my iitprep mocks i used to get a consistent 60-80 in REAP aur aaj time hi kam mila bhai jo aata tha wo bhi ekdam RADDAD tha- wo work wala question, pattern - band pad gya bhai- boht fight mari bhai maine, fir bhi bc mai hi atakta hu- bas 20,(24+7) attempt kr paya. JEE ADVANCE KE RANKERS KO HI LENA THA TOH YE RESEARCH APTITUDE KA NATAK KYU KARA- BOHT UMMEDE HOTI HAI BHAI LOGO KI-
Edit- Maybe i'm the one at fault- that feels more convincing i guess. Maybe that's how these exams are suposed to be. so i'll study harder and just let this post be there just for the record. Lesson learnt- Do anything but don't waste money on crash courses for UGEE, mocks etc. and don't rely on this exam. Just breathe when it goes in 😞
