Looking to upgrade from 27" 1440p gaming monitor. This looks good with better display, but I'd like more screen real-estate for video editing work.

I'm primarily considering 32" 4k scaled somewhere between 1440p and native 4k.

I'm not looking for retina level sharpness since I sit quite far away from the screen and even the 1440p one looks sharp enough.

Does BetterDisplay work well with these resolutions?

I'd love to hear experiences using similar sizes and resolutions.

Call me crazy, but I've noticed that I never use my secondary monitor since switching to Mac. for context, I was on Windows for over 10 years, now working as a video editor and working with only 1 screen felt impossible, but after going over to Mac I find my second display rarely has anything open on it. I can't really pinpoint what changed though.

Does anybody relate?

Is there any decent dongle of this type that anyone knows about? Ideally TB4.

I'm currently rocking an m27q with my laptop screen open. Looking to upgrade soon and can't decide between getting another m27q (~130) or just replace the current one with a 32" 4k montior + mb air 13" screen open. My primary use case is video editing and motion graphics.

Guys, I'm in a bit of a dillema.

Getting my first macbook in a couple of weeks and can't decide between:

M4 Air 24/512 - 1050€

M5 Air 24/1TB - 1500€

I edit video and design motion graphics as a freelancer (99% of the work is 2D), but I'm still at the start of my journey and can't afford a pro at this point. I'm currently editing on a 2022 Strix G15 with a ryzen 7 and a 3070ti, but the UI lag in Adobe apps on windows is making it almost unusable. I'm aware that both of those machines are moreso sidegrades/small upgrades, but I just need something that will allow me to work without crashing and completely stopping when it throttles/hits ram limits.

I am aware that the m5 has a beefier GPU which would be great for After Effects, but I don't know if its 500€ better.

I also already own a Samsung T7 2TB so the 512 internal SSD would work, although the 1tb seems way nicer

I've also seen reviews that say that the m5 throttles much earlier than the m4, resulting in slower exports in real world tests (reviews are mixed on this, some people say its slower, some say its faster).

No, desktops are not an option.

EU has really shit resell prices, The cheapest pro in this pricerange is an m1 pro/max, but I don't want to get those because of lack of support in upcomming years since the laptop will be given out to a family member after I upgrade eventually.

Apple refurbished isn't availible in my area.

Would an m4 air with 512gb storage and 24gb ram be enough for video editing and motion graphics? My current laptop has a ryzen 7 6800h and a 3070ti. The base m4 has way better singlecore, but an almost nonexistant gpu compared to the 3070ti.
It's availible for 1150€ near me, while a pro with 24gb ram starts at 2.1k€.

EDIT: Important to note that I will be keeping the windows laptop too

Hey! My 3070ti Strix G15 2022 has gone from ~12k timespy graphics score to 9.5 recently. The fans are clean and driver/g helper/windows settings all seem normal. The temps when using normally - browsing, video editing are normal and the fans don't even spin up that often. Is this a sign of needing to repaste? The original liquid metal was never changed.
