socrates has passed

i honestly dont even know what to do. he was only nine months old.

i was gonna teach him tricks. he already knew how to jump onto my shoulder. he liked being tossed onto my bed.

i dont know what happened. i think he had a stroke. i showed him to flea after it happened but flea didnt seem to care, but im not a rat so i dont know.

im so lost i dont know what to do i miss him so much

I love Crested Geckos!

(image unrelated)

ive always been exclusively interested in leachie geckos, and for some reason, cresties always freaked me out. today i went to a pet store and i decided to meet one. the employee let me hold him, and im genuinely in love.

this guy was soo cool dude. he was very chill and crawled onto my head 😭 he was very pretty too and still had his tail despite being an adult. i cant stop thinking abt him! he was friendlier than the leopard geckos too LMAO

for people that do own cresties, what is it like? im probably not going to buy one any time soon, but ive been interested in getting a gecko for a while and i guess i'm open to considering different options.

this community can be terrible.

i was in a trading server and i had my bat dragon out. i dont really care abt their value, it's been my dp since it came out because i love spooky things, and the pet reminds me of my old cat because it came out around the same time i adopted her. my avatar is a zombie to match as well.

anyways, i was just sitting there and some girl traded me. her best pet was an evil unicorn. all she said was "i feel bad for you lol. its dropping" then declined and said "so overrated"

like BROOORRROO I DONT EVEN CARE... i just collect halloween pets holy guacamole. this has to be jealousy or something

signs of old age/nearing the end?

ive had my boys for ≈4 years and theyve been doing pretty good. i took em to the vet recently and he said that they're healthy, but i know gerbs usually only live to 5. one of them has slowed down just a bit, and the other is just the same as when i first met him. they are both, surprisingly, exceptionally sweet and they both have little personalities that i adore.

if anybody has any advice as to what to look out for, or personal experience as to how their gerbs acted before passing, itd be very very helpful!

please no graphic stories though, id just like to know the personality/energy shifts and what to look out for :)
