Hadith that Echoes Daily Jewish Blessing For Men

Hadith that Echoes Daily Jewish Blessing For Men

The hadith is from Nuksha Nabit ibn Sharit al-Asja'i, who was a companion of the Prophet.

https://ketabonline.com/ar/books/3307/read?part=1&page=45&index=4443992

> And from his grandfather, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Ali ibn Abi Taleb (may God be pleased with him): What is the first blessing Allah the Mighty and Majestic bestowed upon you? He said: "That he created me a male." He [The Prophet] said: "Then what?" He [Ali] said: "Then that he made me a Muslim."

The hadith uses the biological term for a male. (My translation)

This is very similar to the daily Jewish blessing.
> Blessed are you, Hashem, our G-d and king of the world, who did not make me a gentile.

> Blessed are you, Hashem, our G-d and king of the world, who did not make me a slave

> Blessed are you, Hashem, our G-d and king of the world, who did not make me a woman

The implication in season six the US has a massive murder problem but budget cuts forced the FBI to fire their most productive team is so funny

Every week in the US, apparently, there's some grusome terrorist attack, kidnapping, rape, serial killing, or spree shooting, but obviously, the FBI needs to cut the team with a 100% case solve rate. >!The IRA is active and is casually murdering people in DC. There are kidnappers holding George Mason students hostage, but I think the budget is the biggest issue here.!<

Islam provides the intellectual backing behind honor killings

Muslims might claim that Islam prohibits murder, Muhammad stopped parents from burying baby girls alive, and that Islam promises paradise to men who care for two or three daughters, but intellectually and spiritually it provides the reasoning behind honor killings even if they're "prohibited."

Islam teaches that women are morally, intellectually, and religiously inferior beings who should be controlled by their male family members. It teaches that husbands, fathers, and other male family members have God-given authority over women and God will hold men responsible for their female family members sinning. It teaches that female sexuality is destructive (fitnah), women's bodies and existence are shameful (which is what awrah means), and women have an obligation to cover themselves and adhere to extreme modesty standards to not tempt men. It teaches that men who let their wives/female family members wear what they want, interact with men freely, and leave the home are cuckolds (dayouths) who should be socially shamed, are being humiliated by their female family members, who they should ideally dominate, and they will be punished by God. It teaches that men should control how their wives/family members act and dress, that women should be obedient to men in marriage, children should obey parents, and that men should have "protective jealousy" over other men doing things are simple as looking at their wives' faces or hair or speaking to them. So Islam teaches that viewing your wife as an autonomous and equal partner is wrong and being sexist and controlling is morally virtuous. It teaches that if your wife is disobedient, you can use violence against her to force her to comply. If your children refuse to pray, you can beat them.

The ideas that men should control women, that female sexuality is evil and corrupting, women should adhere to extreme modesty standards, women are immoral beings that men are responsible for controlling, that women humiliate and feminize men by "disobeying" them, and that men can use violence against women to force them into obedience constitute the intelectual backing behind honor killings, so it doesn't matter if Islam in theory "condemns" them. Islam wholly endorses the ideology behind honor killings.

Who has seen results from self-DBT?

I was going to go to a treatment center that treats both my severe OCD and BPD, and then my dad decided it was too expensive, so now I'm going to an OCD PHP. Has anyone gotten good results from DBT workbooks? I am also in a once-a-week DBT group.

I went on leave from my graduate program and was threatened with suspension/expulsion.
