My second plated jewelry order from Gilbert’s Sparkle

This is my second order with Gilbert’s Sparkle. You can read my first plated jewelry review here if you’re interested! I paid $170 total for everything below, free shipping, through PayPal merchant services in USD, so there were no conversion fees or extra charges. Each item is $28-48.

1. VCA hammered bracelet in RG

I love this bracelet so much. It is super dainty, and the chain is surprisingly sparkly for plated jewelry.

After ordering more jewelry reps, I’ve officially decided that RG looks the best on my skin tone. I chose the VCA hammered bracelet and matching earrings because I wanted a cute everyday set, and they are exactly what I imagined.

2. Cartier Love ring 4 mm in RG

I like this one so much more than I thought I would bc I ordered this for my mom. The RG is the perfect shade and looks so natural.

I included a photo of it with my authentic Cartier Love bracelet small size in YG, and as you can see, there is no awkwardness. Even though it's a plated ring paired with an auth bracelet, I love how they look and I will definitely be wearing them together as my fancy little Cartier stack.

3. VCA hammered Sweet earrings in RG

At first, I was worried that I should have ordered the Vintage size because I thought the Sweet size might disappear when I wear my hair down.

I am SO glad I ordered the Sweet size. They are still very noticeable in person, but they look delicate enough and are the perfect size for everyday wear. I think the Vintage size would have looked a little too luxurious and possibly felt too heavy for what I wanted.

4. Chanel Coco Crush RG mini ring & 5. Coco Crush WG small ring

I am seriously OBSESSED with this ring. Love, love, love this ring in mini size. The color and quilted design are so cute.

My sister has the authentic mini Coco Crush, and I just know the quilted pattern on this one looks identical. Even the weight and overall feel seem very similar from what I remember.

I really wish I had her ring with me for a direct comparison, but I am so impressed by the pattern, color, and feel of this one, especially for plated jewelry. The warm beige RG color is sooo pretty.

I also really like the WG small size. The WG looks natural and not overly bright or fake, and the larger size makes the quilted pattern stand out more.

Final thoughts

Sorry for the million photos, but I was so obsessed with how my jewelry collection is coming together 😭

The last photo shows all of my rings together, including my authentic Cartier JUC ring. I think it really shows how natural Gilbert’s plating colors look.

None of the plated rings stand out awkwardly beside my authentic jewelry. The RG, WG, and YG shades all look beautiful and natural, with no weird orange, pink, or brassy tones.

I really like ordering from Gilbert because not only is he super kind, funny, and casual in his responses but he's also organized. When you tell him what you want, he sends an ordering sheet that's like your invoice.

My favorites from this order are definitely RG mini Coco Crush and RG Cartier Love Ring small size. I cannot stop staring at them.

First order from Gilbert’s Sparkle, very happy with it and addicted to ordering reps!

This was my first plated-jewelry order after joining this subreddit. I originally thought I would only want solid 18K pieces, but I decided to try more affordable plated options first. Each item I purchased was $28 so I paid $112 for all 4 items!

$112 is like the cost of 1 or 2 plated items with other plated sellers or from Etsy...

Timeline: inquired on June 10, ordered and paid via PayPal on June 12, and delivered to my doorstep on June 26.

I ordered 4 items total:

• 2 Chaumet honey ring in YG no stone and WG semi-pavé stones
• 1 Hermes RG ring
• 1 VCA Holiday pink MOP vintage Alhambra RG necklace

CHAUMET: I am really impressed with the quality for the price. As you can see in the photos, none of the pieces look cheap or low quality. Chaumet YG and WG rings are both great quality with Chaumet engraving inside and shines like crazy as it reflects light in all different angle. I only wish I can capture how crazy it shines as I move my hand in photos but I am so bad at taking photos, i can't even zoom properly. But when I wear these rings, I cannot stop looking and staring at my hands!

HERMES: The Hermes RG ring is a beautiful shade, and compared with my authentic Hermes WG ring, the shape and proportions are very similar. You can't tell which one is the auth vs rep because the texture and soft color tone is identical. But It is lighter in weight, but that is not an issue for me bc no one is going to ask me to remove my ring to weigh it in their hands lol.

VCA: $28 VCA Holiday pink MOP vintage Alhambra RG necklace compared next to my authentic VCA Sweet RG necklace, the color and overall finish is great. Pink MOP reflects light differently and chain doesn't look cheap.

I also really recommend him because he accepts PayPal with buyer protection (he says he is OK if we don't want to do a family/friend transaction for our ease of mind) and because his online catalogue is amazing. Everything is in English, easy to navigate, and organized by brand. The photos are accurate and high quality, so it is very easy to find what you are looking for.

Gilbert also answers every question patiently and kindly. He is very honest and will tell you when another design may be a better choice, whether that means it looks more similar to the authentic version or is simply a better value for the price.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my first order and would recommend Gilbert’s Sparkle to anyone wanting to try affordable plated pieces. I have already placed my 2nd order because I want to add more rings to my jewelry collection.
