Stupid drivers

By the mall this evening on the Wisconsin Ave side and seriously - PEOPLE!!! Blocking the entire intersection at every turn of the light, not just one or two people but a number of cars every time the light turned. Do you drivers know you’re not supposed to enter the intersection unless it’s clear for you to get through?!? wtf is wrong with everyone around here??

Missed our Alaskan cruise tomorrow

We were supposed to be on an Alaskan cruise tomorrow but after four delays we couldn’t get to Chicago to make our connection to Vancouver. Apparently because the World Cup is happening in Vancouver this weekend, we also couldn’t get a flight tomorrow that would get us to Vancouver before embarkation. HAL offered that we could meet up with the ship in the next port but that would mean flights to Seattle then separate flights to Ketchikan- thousands of extra dollars. So now our cruise goes on without us and I get to spend day two of our vacation on the phone canceling all our reservations after day one was spent in an airport that lead nowhere 😭

Has anyone had this happen before? What can I expect from Costco travel?

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone in the comments with suggestions! I truly appreciate it! There was and is no way for us to make that trip.

There were no flights in the vicinity that could get us there in time. I don’t live in or near a hub city so every flight has a connection and that’s what screws us. We were told we could fly to the next available port but flights would be several thousand dollars on top of what we’ve already spent and if anything else goes awry with flights then we miss that and are out even more money. Yes we’ll recoup some of this, maybe even most, but we lose some as well. Like the VRBO we had booked for last night and the uber rides to the airport and home. It’s heartbreaking, but it is what it is. 💔

Rover lost my dog

Hired a rover to watch my dog for half of our two week vacation. She picked him up two days early because they wanted to go camping for the holiday weekend. Last night, Less than 24 hours before we need to be on a plane, I get a call from a random person who found my dog wandering around. When I got in touch with the rover she apologized and made it sound like it wasn’t a big deal, blah blah blah. Luckily we have a family friend that stepped up to help us so we went to pick him up immediately. Sooooo infuriating!

Sweet Brunch

I posted a couple months ago asking what was happening with this new restaurant and at that time there was an older fb comment from the owners saying they would be opening soon but I was driving by the other day and it doesn’t look like there’s been any movement at all. Anyone know an update? Did they abandon it completely?

Costco onboard credits

Does anyone know when the onboard credits from Costco will show up in our HAL navigator app? Our cruise is next month and I just want to make sure I know when to expect them. Screenshot from the Costco travel booking and the navigator app.

Chicken as meal prep

I’m curious how you use chicken for your meal prep. Any time I’ve tried to use it, it gets so dry when I’m reheating it that I either won’t eat it or have to douse it in sauce, which is not my preference. How do you keep your reheated chicken from drying out?
