Are reflexive instances of expressing SI without having SI something people struggle with with Tourette’s?

Not trying to self diagnose here. Just wondering if repeated phrases that come from anxiety could be explained by Tourette’s. An example is verbally expressing suicidal ideation while not actually having suicidal ideation. More like something I say whenever I think of an embarrassing memory or stupid thing I said.

I don’t have suicidal ideation. I do say things like “I should kill myself” reflexively when I’m thinking about something embarrassing. You can take this down if it’s too sensitive of a topic to be here, but I’m wondering if anyone else says these kind of things out of control?

Again I am not diagnosing myself with Tourette’s. I am curious if I should consider talking to a professional. But I don’t because I don’t want to end up in a psych ward or have people think I’m being dramatic when they don’t understand the context.

Edit: I just saw a rule about not asking, sorry I overlooked it. Let me rephrase: is this something people with Tourette’s struggle with?

Thought I had rabies and was dying, made embarrassing call

I’m about to go on a date with a woman and I had a panic attack on the drive over. I thought I had just contracted rabies and was dying. Called my family and stressed them out severely because I told them I thought I was dying.

The second or third panic attack I’ve ever had and it came with no warning. My anxiety and cotton mouth made me think I was bitten and was headed for death. I’ve embarrassed myself and I am in no condition to entertain a date well. Had a long shift outside today in 113 degree sun, and I have a long trip tomorrow I really didn’t want to go on. I feel like I’m being pushed to the max with a lack of rest, family always wants to be active and do things and I am constantly fatigued. My brother demands more of me than I can give.

I thought I was dying from rabies because I started acting very anxious and irrational, then that irrationality gave me evidence that I was right.

Overcoming burnout?

I was such a hard working, studious, and diligent student growing up and now in my early mid 20’s I’m a bum who’s living back at home with his parents. Maybe being kicked out would force me to go into survival mode, but at this point I feel like that’s the only thing that will get me off my electronics (phone, laptop, switch) and I just want some advice for someone who feel like survival mode is the only option to brute force your way out of feeling stuck.

I do have a bachelor’s degree, but with my particular degree, it’s difficult to find work unless I pursue a PHD/ masters. My GPA was 2.9, and I didn’t really know how to get involved in a lot of independent research. I got in my own way because I believed I would be harshly judged for my less than stellar abilities. I mean it doesn’t take a genius to perceive the professors’ frustration or confusion when I would ask a question.

I kind of would like to go into metereology and climate science, but I haven’t been diligently working on it and have been spending way too much time locked up in my room. Honestly, I’m not the brightest tool in the shed, and I have ADHD and level 1 autism which affects many cognitive areas in life. It’s not severe enough to where I don’t have the ability to live independently, but it makes those things more daunting.

Currently I’m working a job at the airport, 6 months out of the year it’s full time and the other 6 months is part time work. So around 20K a year, about 1/10 the amount of money my parents make.

Perhaps my biggest problem is that I’m also developing an addiction to 7-OH, and I’m spending an over 100$ a week on it now. I want to come clean to my parents but they would freak out and act like it’s the end of the world so I don’t feel safe admitting my problem. When I try to stop, I get this terrible restless legs feeling and start to panic. I know I should stop, but when I do, I’m going to be moody and down in the dumps and my parents will probably be really upset. I will have no choice but to admit it while I’m in withdrawal. I love them but I don’t think I can tell them, I’ve heard them be really judgmental about people with addiction before so I just assume keep my mouth shut.

I don’t want to live in survival mode, I know you sometimes have to go through shitty times, but I hate myself for not being able to get myself to work like I could so easily when I was a child. I had straight A’s, salutitorian in high school, and I’m starting to think I peaked in motivation and everything at age 18. Since then I’ve lost a lot of confidence, discipline, and motivation to work. I suck at everything, even chess and poker. I’ve thought about straightening myself out by going into the military, but I don’t believe in killing people, don’t want to be used as a pawn, I’m hesitant to support the US’s war efforts in Iran, and the culture sounds almost as bad as prison. I don’t want to be around men who are constantly calling everybody the f slur and being gigantic assholes on a daily basis. I’m not sure I’m cut out for military training, and perhaps that mindset is part of my problem.

Please give honest advice, try not to be mean.
