Bad experience with counselor

has anyone had a bad experience with the school counselor? when i did counseling, it didn't help me at all. when i messaged them about some concerns and i also vented out a bit, they only replied to one of my messages and so unresponsive most of the time. i know that i'm not the only person they're talking to but is it really okay to be like that every time?

i also confirmed that this counselor doesn't read previous messages, only the last message bc one time they were asking me to give a contact number but i already sent it just a few mins ago before they asked me for it. the contact number is literally above their question bc i just sent it.

after this, i talked to my previous school counselor instead. even outside her work hours, she still replies and even checks on me. DLSU's counselor doesn't even check on me and doesn't respond even on work hours. they can also inform me if they're in a meeting even if i am asking for something urgent, i would understand. but they completely ignore most of my messages and just chooses one to reply to.

BS Hospitality Management - Major in Culinary Entrepreneurship vs BS Entrepreneurship

currently enrolled in UST pero planning to transfer to DLSU

BS HM-CE (UST)
pros:
- naeenjoy ko yung tours
- mas madali for me (nag eexcel ako sa subjects namin)
- overall, a program that has manageable subjects

cons:
- not really a con of the program but a con in my current block. i don’t really like my social environment kasi hindi maayos yung current friends ko (irresponsible) and i don’t have much options since may kanya kanya nang friend groups yung block namin.
- same block for 3 more years

BS ENTREP (DLSU)
pros:
- dream uni
- i think mas broad yung options for my future career
- best for connections for future business
- can start a business agad since parang ayun yung project nila doon and pwede ituloy even after graduating
- can gain more friends since iba iba yung classmates for each subjects afaik

cons:
- not really my passion to study a program that is entrep focused but i plan to have a business in the future
- i don’t know if maeenjoy ko since parang mas enjoyable for me yung HM

PLEASEEE HELP ME DECIDE😭
hindi ko alam kung ano magiging decision ko since gusto ko lang ng diff friends/environment. transferring to another block naman would be awkward and my current “friends” has friends in the other block too so baka may ikwento lang rin abt me.

should i prioritize the peace of having a better social environment or finish a course that i enjoy but without a good social life?

the course i like or dream school?

i’m torn between UST and DLSU right now. based on my interests, mas aligned yung hospitality management sakin which is in UST. mas kaya ko mag excel sa HM, proven since i’m already in 2nd year planning to transfer to DLSU.

if i ever transfer naman sa DLSU, i’ll take ab/bs psych, behsci or entrep (not sure yet since wala pang result yung transferee exam) bs psych was the prio course i chose to all univs na inexaman ko before college but i went for HM since i think mas kaya ko yun and no doubt mas madali naman talaga ang HM compared sa psych, diba?

now my problem is natatakot ako na hindi na ko mag excel if lilipat ako sa DLSU since magiging iba yung course ko and unsure ako if kakayanin ko ba kung alin man sa mga yun. pero i want to transfer sana for better connections and DLSU has been my dream school all along. i want to have a business rin kaya may mix of entrep rin yung current course ko sa UST (HM major in culinary entrepreneurship) also, i think i’d gain more friends sa DLSU since iba iba makakasama sa classes while sa UST naman, i’m stuck with my blockmates for 4 years which i kind of don’t like kasi hindi ko gusto attitude ng current friend ko.

to sum up here are my reasons why i want to transfer to DLSU:
-connections
-more friends (not guaranteed ik but more possible)
-dream school
why i dont want to transfer:
-i’m afraid to choose a course i’m unsure of

i want to stay in UST because:
-i prefer my current course. i think it’s more enjoyable
why i want to leave:
-i want a better social environment

dlsu connections

has anyone transferred to DLSU mainly because of the environment/connections rather than the course? did you regret it?

does the fixed block system get better after first year?

i’m a cthm student and i’m currently deciding whether to stay or transfer to another university.

one of my biggest concern is the fixed block system.
i don’t really enjoy my current social environment in our block, and i’m worried that i’ll be with the same people for the next three years. i don’t really like my current friend bc this friend is irresponsible, basically not a good friend for me. i considered transferring to another block too, but i think that would be awkward bc they already have their own group of friends

i’d like to ask some questions to 4th yr students:

  1. do you eventually meet and become close with students from other blocks?

  2. did your friend group change after first year, or did you mostly stay with your original block?

i’m trying to decide whether my current experience is just a first-year adjustment or if it’s likely to stay the same for the rest of college. tyia

need advice if i should stay in UST

hello, i need advice po🥹

i’m currently in hospitality management sa UST but im planning to transfer to DLSU bs/ab psych, behsci, entrep (course unsure yet since wala pa result nung transferee exam but those are my options)

i like my current course in UST since it aligns my interest and the schoolworks are also manageable compared to psych. i can say na mas madali for me yung HM (current course in UST) and i’m not confident if i can excel in psych too. my target is to graduate with latin honors and i think it’s more possible sa HM and i also enjoy our tours.

now here’s the reason why i want to transfer to DLSU.
i don’t have much friends sa block namin. i talk to everyone naman in our block and i have no issues with them but i want to have a good friend group. i currently have only one friend sa block namin and i don’t want to be friends with this person anymore kasi super irresponsible nya, basically not a good friend for me. so i want to transfer to another school nalang which is DLSU wherein i think i’d have more and better friends kasi nag iiba yung blockmates per term and i’ve heard that the environment there is better. also, bs psych was my prio course when i applied for universities. but now im not confident enough that i will excel in that course since i’ve tried HM. (walang HM sa DLSU, sa DLS-CSB lang) additionally, dream uni ko rin yung DLSU.

so having better connections is kind of the main reason i want to transfer. parang i value college friendships as lifelong connections rin kasi. so i’m really confused if i should transfer to DLSU or not. idk if i should value which course is easier for me or a university that will help me get better connections. my last straw is to transfer nalang to another block pero i think medyo mas mahirap (?) magka new friends dun since they already have their own friend groups

dlsu student environment

hello ! planning to transfer to dlsu bs/ab psych or behsci (not sure yet since the exam results aren’t out yet) and im from UST

  1. is the environment in dlsu good? like.. are students friendly or welcoming? i want to have nice friends sana since i keep having bad ones🥲 irresponsible ones and also backstabbers. so i would like to know if students in dlsu are nicer, based on current/former students’ experience:)

  2. is it hard to be a dean’s lister in the courses i mentioned? or in international studies or bs entrep?

  3. are there field trips or educational tours in some of these courses?
