Backdating to cancel insurance
My so got into an accident and crashed my car. My car was a write off and I went to an icbc insurance broker and they were able to backdate my insurance max 45 days to get a refund on the insurance since I did not use a rental vehicle. My broker said they can email icbc to further backdate the insurance tk get it further back to the date of the insurance to get more money back since I haven’t been driving it.
Now icbc is calling back saying that since I have been in possession of the car exceeding the date, they will invoice me for the insurance that I got back even though i didn’t even drive the car. It took awhile for it to get valued and towed.
Has this happened to anyone? Did anyone fight to is? I don’t think I can just ignore the invoice since they will likely make me pay it before I renew my other vehicle.
Thanks
