What does it take to become an Executive Manager (Banking)?
Hey everyone. I’ve been curious over the last couple of years about this because i never seem to get a straight forward answer.
What does it take on a professional and personal level to become an EM in banking? I appreciate departments are wide and that skill sets in order to become an EM in certain teams may differ. Is it simple as be the most charismatic person and you’ll get it? Or is it more a case of actually knowing your stuff legitimately back to front regardless of the area you work or specialise in.
Happy to hear some examples from others also, I’ve recently been seeing some extremely young EMs at my workplace I’m talking 28-29 and I’m struggling to see how they could be experienced enough to do the role to a high level. Cheers!
