Picking back up after 8 years

Like the title says I’ve pretty much done little to no portrait photography in almost 8 years. Now I’m back to basics. I’ve always been a natural light shooter and have shot weddings and events before but again a loooooong time ago. Any tips or tricks, any suggestions or wise words will be appreciated.

Weimar, Germany on the M8

I unfortunately get the CCD hype. Far from technically perfect but the photos taken on the M8 truly have a character that I’m absolutely addicted to by now.

Ps. All shot with the Voigtländer 40mm Nokton 1.4 MC

Which “entry level” digital medium format?

I’m looking to get into medium format mainly just for fun and experimenting with a larger sensor.
I don’t want to spend an insane amount of money right away and I don’t need 100mp and all the fancy features of an X2D ii or something.
I’m looking into getting either:

-Fujifilm GFX 50s
-Hasselblad X1D
-Hasselblad H3D 31

I’m open for other options as well tho.
Willing to spend maybe around 2K for camera plus lens used.

I’m open to any suggestions and ideas.

Who needs an M-EV1 if you can have…

Just a joke but actually the capability of using M lenses but also the full range of L-mount lenses is all I could ever ask for.

Buying advice Leica M8

I‘m currently looking for a M8 and I’ve narrowed down my search to two cameras.

The first one is a silver M8 with a shuttercount of 50.000 but it had its shutter repaired in 2015 at Leica and has only around 300 shots from the repair to now. Comes in box with 3 og batteries and all the og accessories for 1500€ with only very minor cosmetic damages.

The second one is listed for 1440€ by a camera store that can offer a 12 month warranty. It’s black and has a shutter count of 20.000 also only minor cosmetic damage but it comes with only one battery and without the original strap (I know not that important lol) and hasn’t ever been serviced from what the store knows.

I’d be able to test out both of them before purchase. Any recommendations or thoughts on how to go about this? It’s not my first leica but my first rangefinder so I’m not 100% sure what to look for when inspecting the cameras.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
