How can I get these nails?

Hello, I have never gotten fancy nails before but thinking about getting something like this done:

How would I go about finding a salon/tech that could do this? Is it pretty basic or would it require special skill? (Honestly I am clueless.) Could I just show them the photo and say "Make it look like that please?"

Thanks!!

Searching for wedding hair & makeup leads in North Tahoe/Reno area

I'm having a heck of a time finding a mobile hair & makeup artist in the area that doesn't have a minimum number of services. It will literally just be my hair & makeup, no family members or bridal party. Is it just unreasonable to expect anyone will be willing to come out to do just my hair and makeup? Should I just be looking for nearby salons?

HMU timeline, am I missing something?

So, I'm not much of a hair/makeup girlie but since this will probably be the occasion on which I am photographed more than any other day in my life before or since and will have to look at these pictures for the rest of my life and I don't want to be stressed about being in charge of it, I decided to hire a hair and makeup person. One of the most highly recommended ladies from my venue is doing another wedding the same day in the same area (as in, where the other bride will be getting ready is about a five minute walk from where I'll be), and so she'd told me that it was likely she could probably do me as well as long as our two timelines weren't in conflict. (Also it's literally just my hair and makeup - we don't have a bridal party or any other relatives etc getting their hair/makeup done.)

Our photos start at three (on the same site, so no travel involved) so I'd let her know I'd need to be done at like 2:30 or 2:45. She is trying to work out the other bride's timeline, and when we spoke the other day she'd said it is sounding like that lady's photographer will probably want her ready at like 12:30, meaning she should be able to get to me by ~1ish. (She said she is going to try to nudge the bride to start a bit early so that there is plenty of time to fit me in.) So I'm like, great! 1.5 hours to do hair & makeup for one person. Plenty of time.

But I shared this with a couple of other people and they seem horrified and think that 1.5 hours is cutting it super close, especially since I still have to get dressed afterward.

I feel like I'm missing something. When I do my daily makeup at home it takes about three minutes, maybe 10-12 if I'm doing fancier going-out makeup. Like I do understand that this is more like long-wearing stage makeup for an event so it will take longer, but honestly, how long can it possibly take at the outside? 30 minutes?? And even if I had some kind of up-do for hair, could it possibly take more than an hour? And getting dressed is literally.....putting on a dress and shoes??? (It's not even a complicated dress, just a fairly plain evening gown situation, and I don't have any crazy underthings/shape wear to deal with. Literally step in and zip it up.)

Someone please tell me what I'm missing here.

Five months out & the anxiety dreams are already starting 💀

Bringing you a little light entertainment this Saturday. 😅 I am still five months out but some good friends of ours are having a 20th anniversary party tonight, which my brain decided to translate into OUR wedding taking place tonight and then delivered me the most amazing anxiety dream last night in which the following happened:

  • We had to change venues on the day of; the new one was a large abandoned trailer with poor wiring, and the first thing I did was start an electrical fire plugging something in while guests were waiting outside.
  • We are not doing a plated dinner but someone had set up big dinner tables with place cards and was directing people where to sit.
  • I still hadn't chosen a dress and so brought the five finalists with me to make a game time decision; realized I'd never even tried two of them on, one was like three sizes too big, one was badly damaged, and the one I ended up wearing was like a tie dyed mumu.
  • My partner's band (which includes like 9 of our guests) booked a gig next door for right before our wedding ("Because it'll be so convenient!").
  • We are specifically not doing toasts/speeches yet I discovered like 10 people had secret note cards in their pocket and were planning to go rogue.
  • One of my partner's relatives brought a small collection of animals (snakes, birds, squirrels, etc) because she "thought they'd be a kick!"
  • While brushing my hair a giant chunk of it started coming out; it turned out my sister had secretly put clip-in extensions in my hair while I was sleeping because she "thought [I] could really use them". The HMUA didn't show up so my mom and sister were like "It's fine, WE'LL just do your hair!"
  • I couldn't remember the timeline and people kept saying, "Eh, you have plenty of time to get ready" and then people started arriving.
  • I forgot to bring contacts and had to wear my glasses (which I never wear in public), so found myself greeting guests makeup-less, in glasses, with rat's nest hair, in my tie dyed mumu. Obviously this was upsetting and people just kept telling me to "stop being dramatic, it's not that big a deal, no one cares."

The dream was horrible but once I woke up the sheer absurdity/extra-ness of the whole thing just struck me as hilarious. I don't consciously feel stressed at all about planning but maybe I'm just repressing it all! 🤣

Hope everyone's planning is going well and that none of the above happens to you!!!
