A start of a solution for 4th of July Mob of teenies

I cannot post on the other Tahoe reddit channel, moderator is a petty wanna be badge holder, but I digress. Over the decades we have seen the spring break and holiday destinations by the sub 20 peeps move from Galveston to many Florida towns, Palm Springs and many other places. But it’s never been easier to rent a party pad now with airbnb, vrbo and the rest of the tech-enabled fractional ownership and rental models. Im sitting here in our home in Carnelian Bay tonight listening to the teen part houses nearby, saw many of them starting up by 10 AM. For most jurisdictions you only need to be 18 and have a credit card to rent a house, hence the source of the problem. This is probably a country wide, Placer County, issue, but perhaps its hyper-local as well. At a minimum we need the rental companies to increase the rental age to a minimum of 25 to cut at least some of the easy party pads. Sure some 25 plus year olds will take the bait, but then Placer Sheriffs arrest them for underage drinking as well as sex with minors. Now, I’m no prude or shrinking violet, but this is absurd.

Bear question

I have reservations at Fallen Leaf campground and I’m wondering if me having clean clothes on will attract bears? My stuff was washed with regular scented laundry soap.

I’m sleeping in a tent so I’m kinda worried about attracting bears .

Let me know

Exciting things for kids to do

I’m trying to plan a trip from just down the street in Sacramento for my family later this month. We were planning on staying around King’s Beach and we’re looking for fun activities and things to do, places to see, places to eat, etc… for young kids (less than 6).

What are your favorite things to do for small families?

Struggling with affordability around Lake Tahoe?

Hello, my name is Grace, I'm with NBC News working on a broadcast story about affordability. Looking to hear from anyone who has been priced out of Lake Tahoe and have long commutes because of it.

No Reddit usernames will be posted, just wanting to chat with people about their experience. Feel free to DM or email me at grace.thomas@nbcuni.com. Thanks!

Boating on the 4th of July

I've seen the beaches on the 4th and....wow.

What is it like on the lake though for boat owners?

One said they ran out of gas at the marinas but how crowded is the lake itself?

Along the shores it looks dense in photos but out in the lake itself?

Transportation options to Tahoma from Reno

Hello!

I am visiting Tahoma in September, and I am confused on what options there are for getting to Tahoma CA from the Reno airport.

Should I just schedule an Uber, or does one of the airport shuttles go down that far on the west shore?

Thank you for all you help.

Cierra Steakhouse. Bally's. Best bar in town so far. Vegas cocktail bar snob here I guess.

What are the best things to do in Tahoe for adults besides the usual tourist attractions?

I'm planning a trip to Lake Tahoe with a group of adults, and we're looking for activities that go beyond the standard recommendations. We've already got hiking and sightseeing on the list, but we'd love to find some experiences that are a little more unique, social, or memorable.

We're open to pretty much anything food and drinks, games, nightlife, live entertainment, lake activities, group outings, or hidden gems that locals enjoy. Some of us are couples, while others are coming with friends, so we're trying to find options that work for a mix of personalities.

For those who spend time in Tahoe regularly, what are the best adult-friendly activities you've done that you'd recommend to visitors?
