Looking for help - first time wig wearer!

Hi hi! I've worn clip-in extensions and headbands for years to help manage my trichotillomania and I've finally made the switch to wigs. I'm hoping it'll be easier to get out the door and look a bit more polished / put together day to day.

It just bought my first wig - it's human hair, lace front and I've already washed and toned it slightly with purple shampoo to make it a bit closer to my actual hair color. I'm planning to go over it with a heated brush to add some shine and style. It's not fully dry yet, so please forgive any frizz in photos. Mostly focused on the below -

  1. Hairline- Any tips for making this look more realistic? I think I likely need quite a bit of plucking, but am hesitant just because it was expensive and that's irreversible
  2. The part- Should I be thinning it out more, or parting it differently? (same concern as above)
  3. Securing the tabs by my ears- The tabs are a bit short, so it seems like I'd need to glue them directly onto my natural hair underneath to keep them down? Is that a normal approach? Any tips on doing that well, or should I be using tape instead of glue, or some other method?

Total beginner here, so any advice (even the obvious stuff) is very very welcome. Thank you!!!

Acid reflux -- how to make it stop??

This will be pretty much the same as the title ... I've never had acid reflux before and it's killing me. Anyone have the same side effect and if so, what helps?

First time wig wearer - help!

Hey all! Just got my first wig after years of doing clip-in extensions. It’s fairly easy to put on and I’m really happy with the color and how the hair looks (we’ll see if that holds up hah). Can link the wig if anyone wants it.

Main issue is that it looks a little “wiggy” to me and I can’t tell why. Maybe it needs some plucking up front to soften the hairline? Or - maybe I’m just not used to seeing an even hairline. I have trichotillomania so my hairline has never really looked like this. It might just be new to me.

Adding a couple photos, would love any tips on making it look more natural. Thanks!

3 months in, -10.4 lbs and broke 150 this morning!

Taking a quick pause to celebrate! This morning I hit 148.8lbs, down from just over 160. This is the first time my weight has been under 150 in a loooong time. I have more energy, more confidence and more hope that I'll be able to actually hit my target weight. Feeling so great! Stats below...

Three months on Wegovy. Total loss so far: 10.4 lbs. I had some setbacks early on from unrelated health stuff that got in the way, but the trend line has been steadily downward since, averaging - 0.7 lbs/week

Magnesium for fatigue - game changer!

Sharing this in case it helps anyone else or resonates with similar stories!

Magnesium glycinate has been the first supplement, out of everything I’ve tried, that’s actually made a noticeable difference with my fatigue. I take 300mg (Nature Made) right before bed and for the first time in 10-15 years, I’m waking up without that
anxious, stress-hormone feeling running through my body.

I used to be completely exhausted and unable to function until I’d had coffee. I used to not really be a person until caffeine kicked in. I have gotten so used to it but also have been so aware that it’s not how others feel when they wake up and I’ve always been so jealous!

The shift happened pretty quickly (within a couple of days) and I just hope it lasts 🤞🙂

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Looking for best / most unusual PCOS tips! (Newfound wave of motivation and trying to test things out!)

Hi guys! Going through one of my motivation waves with PCOS and looking for your best tips.

I have these cycles where I completely forget I have PCOS and then suddenly it comes back and I remember why I’ve been so exhausted and inflamed and nothing fits right... and then I snap back into actually wanting to tackle it!

Currently in that phase… Newly motivated and ready to try some new things out.

My main symptoms are weight gain, inflammation, and fatigue. Would love to hear what has actually moved the needle for you, especially the stuff that sounds a little out there until it doesn’t. Weird supplements, random lifestyle changes you stumbled into, the workout that finally clicked, the food thing you swear by…

What are your best PCOS coping mechanisms? Bonus points if it sounds unconventional but actually works!

Hi everyone — sharing my experience in case anyone's been through something similar or has advice for moving forward.

I started Wegovy (1.5mg dose) about three weeks ago at 160 lbs. The first week was great — appetite dropped immediately, food noise gone, and I was eating really well: Greek yogurt, granola, flax seeds, lots of water. I wasn't tracking nutrition closely, but I felt good.

Then, around week two, I started noticing stomach discomfort that manifested in a dull ache along the top of my abdomen under my rib cage, and some pain in the lower left where the intestine bends. Looking back, it might have been gas, but when I went two full weeks without a bowel movement, I was pretty sure it was serious constipation. I tried laxatives and stool softeners — nothing moved. The pain got intense enough that I went to the ER and saw a GI specialist. I paused Wegovy about a week ago while waiting for things to settle. Finally had a bowel movement after two weeks of nothing, which was a huge relief, but the whole experience was anxiety-inducing.

My best guess is that I was eating so little that there just wasn't enough moving through my system, but I'm honestly not totally sure.

I want to go back on Wegovy because I do think it was working, but I'm nervous after that experience. Has anyone dealt with severe constipation on GLP-1s or stomach pain in those areas? What helped you manage it and what were the underlying causes?

Thanks for any help you can provide!
