I can't wait for this season to start!

Maybe it's just blind fanboy optimism, but I see the Mavs being play-in bound, if not 1st round bound if everyone stays healthy. What a turn around that would be from a year ago when people were literally threatening boycotts over Nico. It seems like everyone else in Mavs nation feels the same way judging by how fast some sections sold out this year.

I'll be at 6 Mavs games this season, but the best game on my schedule by far is the Mavs vs Miami matchup during New Years week. I'm a huge Giannis fan, but I'll definitely be rooting for Flagg to throw one down on my boy.

So if you're in Section 118, and you see a guy wearing a Mitchell Ness Hardwood Classic Mavs warmup jacket, make sure to say hi! #MFFL!

It’s better to be homeless than work a 9-5, didn’t you know?

Get under those bridges with your cardboard boxes 📦 instead of making a salary like a sucker.

Thank goodness, now we can we finally uncuck the Hulk

This guy and the character have been legitimately terrible ever since Norton wasn’t brought back. I hope whenever Hulk reappears in the MCU he isn’t being portrayed by a whiny pussy.

I don't care that people wear replicas/fakes, but even if it's a "super clone", it's not fooling anyone.

I recently got into a lengthy debate on Reddit on the whole concept of "rep" watches with someone in another watch sub. They literally had 2 cases full of different fake watches including numerous Rolex, Omega, AP watches, and I thought it was a waste of money.

Their logic was "Swiss watches are overpriced, and if some company in Guangdong province can replicate 90% of the look and feel of the watch for $500, then AP/Rolex/Omega are simply overpriced and not worth what these authorized dealers charge, so why buy a genuine watch when I can enjoy owning and wearing a premium watch for 5% of the price?"

Honestly, besides the whole IP theft and profiting off a brand they didn't build, I can see the logic (even if I don't agree with it). Premium brand watches are prohibitively expensive for the majority of people, and for some this is the only way to appear in public with say a "Rolex" on their wrist.

But let's be honest, if you wear one of these, you're not fooling anyone, and I'm not even talking about hardcore watch people who can spot the misalignment of a dial from 15 feet away or watchmakers who can open the case back and spot a fake movement.

If you're living a $35,000 lifestyle, working a normal 9-5, and are sporting a supposed "$15,000 Rolex" on your wrist, MOST people are just going to assume it's fake. I don't care how close it looks to the genuine article, people are just going to assume you either stole it, inherited it, or it's plain old fake.

So why wear a replica at all? Most people won't care what watch you wear or just assume it's fake. The only person it matters to really... is you. Does wearing a replica/fake give you any sense of pride or accomplishment? It doesn't for me, so I don't see the point, even with "super clones", but like I said, anyone can wear what they want or spend their money on anything.

Can we do something about the constant brigading by short term posters that instantly engage in ad hom attacks?

There has been an epidemic of very short term “members” of the sub who have only joined in the past 2 weeks, probably due to the massive astroturfing campaign surrounding the Odyssey, and most of them make ridiculous, low-iq posts within seconds of joining (like the one I posted) and it’s kind of ruining the vibe of the sub. They all share similar traits; never posted in the sub before, only joined days ago, instantly aggressive and engaging in personal attacks.

I know this is Reddit and culture war subs like this tend to attract these loony left agitators looking to relentlessly engage in ad hom attacks occasionally, but before the Odyssey release, it wasn’t this bad. The debates in this sub were far more nuanced and high brow compared to what has been happening very recently. Should there be a rule that if your first 1-2 posts in the sub is calling someone “an absolute fucking loser” or similar ad hom, then that person is insta-banned? Something to restore order and bring us back to before The Odyssey was released.

Rainbow crosswalks gone in Austin

Where am I?

I know this isn't a big deal to most people.

And I won't make it sound like it is.

But it wasn't just paint on a crosswalk for me.

For me it was evidence that if it could exist, then maybe so could I.

And now it's gone.

Just straight up gone.

Now I'm disappearing, literally gone.

I've been wanting an MP7 clone for over a decade, hope I don't regret this.

I decided to take a chance on the UO Arms NT7. I've been wanting a HK MP7 clone for over a decade. Anyone else pre-order one?

Gosh dang if I don't love Austin!

Left a yoga class that’s on dirty 6 & Colorado and decided, while I’m in the neighborhood, I’d swing by The Jackalope to grab a post stretch mocktail. Turns out they’re having a good old brawl right outside of the bar, and my friend from church was here randomly watching the fisticuffs so now we’re just hanging out enjoying it together. I love this town.

What are your expectations for success in the 2026-2027 season?

Given the front office overhaul from Masai, and the talent we will have on the roster next year (Cooper Flagg, Kyrie and Lively back from injury, #9 pick, etc), what would you consider reasonable expectations for success next season?

Playoff team - Mavs get to the 1st round of the playoffs at least, perhaps further, ranked 1-6 in the West.

Play-in team - Mavs qualify for the play-in, ranked 7-10.

Lottery team - Ranked in the bottom of the West, back to the lottery for the third year in a row.

I honestly would consider being a play-in team a good measure of success for the incoming front office, and the talent we will have on hand for next season. We may not get out of the play-in, but I'd consider it a reasonable upgrade from being a lower tier lottery team. I also do not want us to be a lottery team this upcoming season since our pick will 99% go to Charlotte next season.
