Panama early June recs?

I've got work in Panama City, Panama, at the end of May next year and want to tag on a week or so to surf. I'm trying to figure out where (Pacific coast) to go that time of year, ideally without a 5-6 hour drive (maybe unavoidable?).

A couple years ago we went to El Palmar, which was only a couple hours to Panama City, but really inconsistent and mostly flat. My understanding is that Bocas doesn't work well that time of year. (EDIT: I should have been clearer--not looking for Bocas recs but for Pacific Coast recs)

Any suggestions?

Dayton, Ohio river surfing?

Anyone surf the Great Miami in Dayton? I live about an hour away, have never surfed a river wave, but am curious. Living landlocked here means a long trip to surf and it might be cool to have at least something sort of local. Only info I've found online is from Surf Dayton, which does rentals, lessons, etc.

Compensation for 16 hr/overnight delay due to missing paperwork?

Our JFK to GEO flight was delayed (after nearly fours hours on the tarmac) because their sanitation paperwork was incorrect and they couldn’t get it fixed. Instead of a 5:10pm departure we left the following morning at 9am.

AA gave a $12 food voucher and out is up in a crummy hotel. What other compensation might o get from them and how should I request it? I rarely fly AA. Thanks for any help.

Matuse employee or contact?

Do any of you kooks work for Matuse? I've been trying for weeks to do a simple hooded rash guard exchange (already did the form online but no luck getting the replacement to ship) and I can't get anyone to respond to email and their phone always go to a recording.

Rusting raised beds -- safe to use for vegetables?

I have some rust developing in my metal raised garden beds and want to confirm with you experts that this won't be toxic or otherwise dangerous. They are about four years old and were purchased from metalgardenbeds.com. I think they are galvanized steel. I know rust is not a problem itself but would the zinc leaching into the soil/being absorbed by the plants pose any risks? Just trying to educate myself, especially because my four-year-old son eats a lot of the produce we grow.

A wave from El Salvador last week

I'm a landlocked surfer who started a few years ago, surfing 6-7 weeks a year on trips, pretty much always to El Salvador. Last week was a lot of fun, especially before the big swell came (though I did manage to get a couple waves when it was 8-10', which wss rewarding but also exhausting). I know I have lots of keep working on, as you can see here, but I've been having a ton of fun as I progress.
