Kick off the 2026 Montgomery County Public Library Summer Reading Challenge at the Davis Library (6400 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda, MD, 20817) with an event for all ages!

11:00am-2:00pm - Make a Dinosaur Puppet
11:00am-2:00pm - Drop-in Craft for Adults: Mindfulness Bookmarks
11:00am-2:00pm - Drop in and make a button! 
11:30am-12:30pm - Dig for Fossils
11:30am-1:30pm - Balloon Twisting with Mike Klee Magic
Scheduled Events:
11:00am-11:30am - Dinosaur Storytime
1:00pm-2:00pm - Adult Book-Tasting 

During the event, library staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the program, assist with sign-ups, and provide materials for those who register. Can't make the event? Sign-up (or log in) online or at your local library starting May 15, and begin logging and tracking your progress, starting June 13th.

Etch your own drinking glasses and sample some local drinks at the White Oak Town Center Oak Barrel, and Vine store.

Create your own unique glasses using etching cream and stencils and sample some local wines. This event is taking place at the White Oak Town Center Oak, Barrel, and Vine store.

This program is for adults 21 years and older. Please bring your ID with you to your event.

Sign up for Adult Summer Reading! Adults can participate by signing up online at mcpl.link/summer-reading, reading books, and attending Adult Summer Reading events throughout the summer. Win Nationals tickets, a free Bruster's Ice Cream coupon and a voucher for a free book from a Friends of the Library Montgomery County bookstore by completing your reading hours, plus enter a raffle for Washington Spirit tickets. Participants can earn a raffle ticket for the chance at winning a prize.
