Is It Feasible to Earn AED 300k in Real Estate Commissions by the End of 2026 as an 18-Year-Old
I'm 18 and unexpectedly got into Dubai real estate as my first job. Surprisingly, I ended up really enjoying it. I liked building relationships, talking to clients, learning about developers, and just understanding how the industry works.
The problem is that I couldn't financially sustain a commission-only role without any backup, so I had to leave. I'm now planning to take a salaried admin/finance role while I get myself into a more stable position.
My goal is to raise around AED 300k for higher education. I know it's a huge number, but it's something I'm working towards.
During this time, I'm thinking of creating content around Dubai real estate, sharing market insights, and documenting what I learn. Even if it doesn't become a source of income, I feel like it'll help me keep learning and build a network.
I'm also wondering if it's realistic to do real estate on the side while working a full-time job. Has anyone here actually managed it? Or is it one of those industries where you have to be all in?
I've also thought about eventually getting into luxury real estate, but I don't really know how different the sales cycle and closings are compared to the rest of the market.
If you were in my position, what would you do? Is this plan realistic or am I overlooking something? Any advice from agents who've been through it would really help. I genuinely enjoy the industry, but I also have to be practical given my circumstances.
