I walk the greenway multiple days a week and just noticed these metal tags on what appears to be a couple thousand trees. I’m getting really concerned at the extent of deforestation we’ve been seeing in Alpharetta lately and I really hope that these tags mean that these trees are going to be preserved…
I am an ESL teacher for adults and teach intermediate level. I have one particular student that gets an attitude with me saying all we do is sentences and that my lessons are boring and that I should do more games or creative lessons, but if I do those then she doesn’t even end up participating.
I also separate sentence/grammar activities with games like wordle and contexto and conversation activities, but idk I feel really discouraged today because she caught an attitude with me in front of the class said we do too many sentences and I was just like… this is English class? What do you want us to do we have to practice grammar sometimes 😭

Just wanted to vent because we got our formations yesterday for the competitive salsa team I’m on and me and my parter are in the second row. I’m not that surprised because the other girls are a bit better than me but I want so badly to be one of the best on the team but the reality is that I can’t afford more classes, I can hardly afford the team. Feeling discouraged and disappointed in myself.

Hey y’all. As the title says I’m 26 and seriously considering doing an apprenticeship or a training program (depending if I can find funding through grants). Electrician and airplane mechanic work (maybe even avionics) have called to me the most. I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia but my partner lives in West Palm Beach, Florida so I’m open to opportunities in either location.
A little about me: 5’2 and skinny but fit, have a bachelors degree in Spanish (not that that probably matters). Previously applied to the Lockheed Martin apprenticeship but didn’t get in.
I’m wondering if anyone knows of a particular program or apprenticeship in either of these locations? Or of a particular grant or scholarship? Money is absolutely a factor for me, I don’t have the money to pay for a program.
