Owners review of 2026 Offshore Diver

Owners review of 2026 Offshore Diver

(Apologies for a slightly long summary - in short I love how much fun it is)

I picked up the new 2026 turquoise Offshore Diver earlier this year, and after wearing it on various holidays it has quickly become my go-to summer watch.

I initially thought I wanted the teal version. It is more versatile and conservative, or at least as conservative as an Offshore gets. But seeing them in real life changed my mind. The turquoise version simply made me smile more.
The colour combination is what makes it. AP uses a black Méga Tapisserie dial with turquoise accents and a matching rubber strap, rather than making the entire watch turquoise. It is unmistakably bold, but still recognisably an Offshore rather than a novelty piece.

Photographs don’t quite capture what happens when sunlight hits the bezel. The brushed steel catches along the polished edges, the turquoise comes alive and the whole watch changes character. Around a pool or against the sea, it looks ridiculous in the best possible way.

At 42mm, it is chunky and relatively heavy, particularly compared with a titanium Offshore, but not enough to make it uncomfortable. The extra-wide rubber strap distributes the weight well and keeps it firmly planted on the wrist. I’ve worn it all day and taken it diving in the sea without any issues.

AP House also added a black rubber strap for me. It makes the watch feel tougher, more restrained and considerably easier to wear in different scenarios, but the turquoise strap is its real identity and the reason I bought it.

I wouldn’t recommend it as someone’s one and only watch. The colour, size and presence make it too specialised for that. Within a balanced collection, though, that limitation becomes its strength. It doesn’t need to work at business meetings, formal dinners or throughout winter - other watches can do those jobs.

This one is fun, distinctive and completely different from everything else in the box. It is bright, slightly excessive, impossible not to notice when the sun catches it and most of all, it makes me smile each time I put it on.

Major milestone birthday purchase - blue or green?

Have a major milestone birthday coming up and am in the fortunate position where I am able to purchase one of these two references. I am torn between the blue and green dials. I feel the blue is more classic but the green gives me a colour I don’t have in my collection. I already have a 4520v blue and 5520v panda. What do folks think - I am particularly keen to hear from owners of the green one regarding how versatile it is in real life.

Rubber Straps - Summer Edition

In the hot summer months I find that rubber straps offer the best comfort and wearing experience. I don’t understand why more brands don’t offer a simple easy switch system to allow owners of sport watches to easily change different types of bracelets / straps to suit different situations. Do you agree and if so let’s see your wildest colors!

PS - Happy 250th birthday to US folks!

Summer Overseas Straps

Received some VC rubber straps today. Wanted to share some pics. I think my favourites are the white in the Panda and Orange on the Blue but love the fact these can be switched so easily. The flexibility just reinforces for me why these are arguably the best integrated bracelet watches.

New Love bracelet and ring set with black ceramic

Picked up a new love bracelet and matching ring from the boutique today. Apparently they only just got them in and were the first ones they have sold. Very pleased with them!

Anyone picked up one of these yet?

Now the ‘baby blue’ one has been discontinued I’m thinking of putting my name down for one of these….curious if anyone has tried one on or even been allocated one yet.

Anyone been allocated a Cardinal Points South yet?

I have a good relationship with my local VC boutique, have asked about being added to the waitlist for the cardinal points south. Curious to know if these have started rolling out yet.

New Santos Chronographs

What are we thinking? I used to have the XL model in ADLC so it’s a shame to see the lack get size discontinued.

Need some opinions on rose gold moon phases

I am looking to add a classic rose gold / brown strap / light dial / moon phase watch to my collection. My first proper watch gifted to me as a teenager was a seiko in a similar configuration which I still own. I am torn between these three similar offerings from VC. While Reddit is clearly not the ideal place for asking for advice (to my wife they are all identical) I am interested in people’s thoughts particularly if the own one or more of these references. I wouldn’t want to go any small than 40mm ideally. Thanks for your input.

5396R 2026 release

Does anyone own one of these new releases yet. Curious to get some real life examples of how the dial comes across in different situations and overall thoughts.

Owner Review: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph 5520V “Panda”

The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph 5520V “panda” has become one of my favourite pieces in the collection.

For me, the dial is the main reason this version wins. I had a real dilemma between this and the black dial, which is a very strong-looking watch, but I preferred the deeper nuance of the panda. The silver-toned sunburst centre, white outer ring, black snailed counters and darker angled outer track create far more contrast and depth than photos suggest. It can look bright, sharp and almost dressy in one light, then much more technical and sporty in another.

The strap options change the watch massively. On the bracelet, it feels like a serious integrated sports chronograph. On black rubber, the panda contrast becomes much punchier and more modern. On leather, it dresses up surprisingly well with a real vintage racing vibe.

Comfort is also good. The 5520V is slimmer than the previous 5500V, and you can feel the difference. It is still a proper sports chronograph, so it does not wear quite as effortlessly as the 4520V time-only, but it is well balanced and very wearable.

I also considered the panda Daytona and the white gold Daytona on Oysterflex, but the Overseas won out. The Daytonas are obviously iconic, but they wear too small for me. I prefer the larger size and wrist presence of the Vacheron, along with the extra versatility from the bracelet, rubber and leather strap options.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with it. The dial is stunning, the finishing is excellent, the comfort is strong for a chronograph, and the whole watch feels more distinctive and interesting than the obvious alternatives.

New watch day!

Got this today to compliment my 4520v blue dial. Briefly considered a Daytona but quickly saw sense after trying both on. Stunning piece.

Owner Review: Offshore Titanium & Grey Ceramic

I’ve been living with my AP Royal Oak Offshore in titanium and grey ceramic for a while now, and I’m genuinely super happy with it.

The aesthetic is probably the biggest strength. It has all the presence you expect from an Offshore, but the grey-on-grey colour scheme stops it from shouting too loudly. It still feels bold, chunky and unmistakably Offshore, but in a way that makes it surprisingly easy to wear as a daily.

The titanium case and grey ceramic elements make a huge difference on the wrist. It is obviously not a small watch, but it wears much lighter and more comfortably than the size suggests. You get the big Offshore look without it feeling like a brick strapped to your arm.

Durability has also been excellent. I’ve worn it regularly and have not picked up a single scratch. The ceramic and titanium combination makes it feel genuinely practical and low-stress as a daily, which I did not fully expect from an AP.

The dial is another highlight. In some light it looks like a dark grey, but when the sun catches it from the side it flashes much brighter, almost silver. It gives the watch a lot more depth than photos usually show.

The strap change system is excellent too. In addition to grey rubber, the standard dark blue rubber strap works really well and keeps it sporty, but I also bought a royal blue croc strap, which dresses it up and gives it a different personality.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with it. It is light, comfortable, durable, visually interesting and much easier to wear than the size suggests. For me, this is one of the more wearable modern Offshores while still keeping all the character that makes the Offshore special.
