Making sure initial scans and plans are right

I had braces as a kid but didn't keep up with the retainer so my teeth shifted in my older age. On a whim I decided to get invisalign with an Orthodontist, but I am feeling uncertain about the accuracy of the scans and bite evaluations. The only check on bite the Dr. did was on the first day and you sort of close your teeth weird when a dentist has his fingers in your mouth. I said I clenched and he was like "oh sure that's good let's add that to our notes for invisalign" so invisalign adds some bite plates.

On subsequent visits the Dr. just sits there and hangs out and doesn't look in my mouth. I am pretty early in the process, but at some point will the Dr. actually look in my mouth or take rescans? I am a little uneasy leaving the whole process to invisalign company and opted for an orthodontist over a cheap dentist because I hoped their expertise would continually be an asset vs. his notes on the initial send off. The final results photos he showed me didn't really look that straight or different, but it is also hard to tell on a weird tooth photo.

I find my Ortho to be a fun guy.. but I also want good care. Anyone have any thoughts or insights on the mid and later process?

Am I crazy? SFH to Apartment

Reading through this sub is giving me second thoughts , but I am looking to move to a new city and considered selling my SFH and buying a triplex or four plex and living in one and renting the other units out.

I am mid 40s single gal and dog and tend to go out a lot, but also enjoy a nice home environment. I sleep odd hours, but once asleep it’s hard to wake me up. Only looking to buy places that have a nice yard or separate outdoor space and there are some like that in my new area. I have owned a house of some kind since 25 and haven’t lived in apartment since then so I can’t recall any annoyances.

I know the quality of my living space would degrade , but am I crazy here? I am primarily doing it as an investment and cheaper way to settle back in my home city while maintaining flexibility to easily rent out my unit if I move out. Financially buying an apartment building will tap me out for a bit so I’d be locked in for a couple years probably.

Overly involved/ anxious owners

I guess I just have to vent. I understand overly particular owners, my dog has a several page welcome doc with all her commands and area info. But ultimately with my dog I provide the info to make it easier not direct the sitter exactly how they have to live for weeks and weeks and I recognize the sitter will do what works for both of them.

With the abundance of cheap 2 way cameras I think owners have gotten crazy. Owners have cameras all over and watch them so they can text trivial things or talk to me in the camera. Things like while I am sitting in the living room a voice comes on saying , dog toys are in the corner you can take him in the yard now.

I send daily updates and photos , I am mostly there, 100 5 star reviews.. get off my back. I think my upcoming sit is my last sit with Rover because of this. I have nothing to hide, but feeling watched in several rooms in the house is really uncomfortable. These same owners have a long list of activities and training I can clearly tell that they don’t do themselves .

If anyone has tips on how to approach this I am all ears, but as is I am pretty fed up. Specifically the sit I have coming up are newlyweds in their late 20’s without kids (it’s a type) who I’ve done several pre-sit visits with and every time there was some miscommunication or weird micromanagement as they followed our walk live via AirTag and watched the cameras. I would have cancelled but I dragged my feet so long and I’d feel terrible cancelling after agreeing to book a few months ago.

R2 Alternative: Santa Fe EREV?

Another interesting car to throw into the decision mix is the Hyundai Santa Fe which will be cheaper, better range and nicer interior. Looks a lot like the r2. What do we all think of it?

My sport dog is aging and I am having a really hard time with it. I have always had pitbulls who aged gracefully or died suddenly of cancer, but my shepherd is getting old and it is so hard to see. He LOVES sport and doesn't show age too much on the field, but his time is coming to an end in sport. To make it worse this is my first sport dog who I got at a very difficult time so we are so in tune and have done a lot together. I changed my whole life to cater to him and his training. This is probably our last summer of carefree outdoor adventures or training even close to how we have for the last 8 years. The main thing I am seeing aside from waning strength is weakness in the rear end sometimes and difficulty getting comfortable around the house. It seems to have happened fast just over the last year.

I am looking for practical tips to help a sport dog age gracefully and managing the emotional fallout for us both (mostly me) transitioning him into old age. We take it a lot easier than we used to, but it just breaks my heart sometimes seeing him or realizing a day was too much after the fact. I can't get another sport dog right now, but one is in the cards for the future I think.
