Has anyone obtained an education degree while active duty?

Has anyone gone through the process of getting a secondary school teaching degree while active duty? I'm looking at my options for if I get out, which I'm leaning towards right now, and I'm trying to find the best avenue of approach to do so.

My current plan is to utilize Sophia learning and complete as many credits as I can possibly transfer, and then finish the rest utilizing an online school. I'm unsure how/if this plan is realistic because I don't know how this would work with my home states requirements to teach (Michigan) or how I would do student teaching requirements as I'm stationed overseas right now.

I have almost exactly 3 years until my DOS. I'm in a bit of a pickle because I wasted the first 4 years being in being a lazy bum and not doing schooling because I was so certain I was pushing for 20 and I'd get to it later. (Look how that's backfired one me).

What would be your recommendation at this point, and have you or anyone else done this? I know there's schools that work well with Sophia, but they're all out of state, and I don't know how that works with being certified back home. I appreciate any input anyone has!

Outstanding state school or independent school?

Outstanding state school or independent school?

Hello everyone, I'm looking for everyone's advice on when and where to enroll my child for school. We've moved here from the US, so I'm still trying to understand all the differences of schools to the best of my ability, but I think I've figured it out for the most part.

My employer will pay for a private (or I think independent is the proper term) school for our child, so I feel like that is such an amazing opportunity for our kid and could he a serious jump start to his life, especially compared to public schooling back in the US.

There is also a CofE state school with an Outstanding rating that is a 15 min walk or 5 min drive from us. We're a Christian family, and I really like the idea of our child being in an environment that encourages education and a connection with God.

Right now, my wife does not have a drivers license from the US because of poor eye sight. That's been taken care of, and she can see now lol, so we're in the process of getting a license for her here. But I know that's difficult and may be a lengthy process.

The nearest independent school is roughly 6.5 miles away. About a 12 min drive, 40 min on public transit, and a much too far walk. That's fine for my days off as I can take our kid to school, but on my work days, I'm not sure how my wife would navigate that. The state school, on the other hand, is only a 15 min walk. I really don't wish to pass up the opportunity for our child to attend an independent school, especially when the cost will be taken care of for us. I'm not sure we'll be able to pay for it on our own once we leave the UK.

Our child just turned 3 near the beginning of this year, and I believe that nursery/early schooling could start now. But that feels so young for him to be away from us.

When do you recommend getting them into school/nursery, and what would you do in my situation? Once my wife is licensed, it will be a much easier decision, but right now, I'm at a loss. I want our kid to have the absolute best opportunities possible, and I don't want them to miss something that we may not be able to offer once we leave the UK. Any advice at all is appreciated. And sorry for how lomg this is

Waiting for landlord and agency to sign lease and we're moving Tuesday.

I'm due to move on Tuesday and the agency/landlord have not signed the lease.

As the header says, we're due to move in and get the keys on Tuesday, but with no sign of when the other parties will sign the lease. I've paid the 1 week deposit, passed referencing, paid the 5 weeks deposit, and signed my portion of the lease. I signed my part 2 or 3 days ago and can't progress further in the portal until they've signed off as well.

Quite nerve-wracking, to be honest. I don't want to seem pushy by calling and emailing and seem impatient, but I'm always waiting for action to be done on their end.

A side note, I asked several days ago while we were being referenced if we could view the property again to take our own photos and measurements to see if we need to downsize some goods, and was never given the courtesy of a return email. My impressions are not very high right now.

How long should I wait to hear back for a letting offer?

Hello, this is our first time renting in the UK, and we're trying to navigate the process.

How long do you typically wait to hear back after you make your initial offer for a rental? We put it in last Thursday evening. I've seen that if you haven't heard back in 24-48 hours, you're likely not going to be chosen. I'm thinking of waiting until Tuesday and then removing our offer. The only reason I don't want to continue to wait afterward is because this agency we've put the offer through has a large hold of the rental market in our area, so there's not many other agencies to put offers through at the same time while we wait. We've only got another 25 days or so until we're supposed to be moved out, and I don't want to wait for weeks to hear back and not be able to put an offer on a different place through this agency.

Any other tidbits you have about renting in general would be greatly appreciated. This process feels so long and complicated, and it's quite nerve-wracking to not have anywhere secured when we need to move so soon. How can we look for desirable to the landlords when we put offers forward?

Thank you!
