Satluj and CBFC

Satluj(Punjab’95) is a story about activist Jaswant Singh Khalra who gathered evidence of mass unlawful killings by Punjab Police after assassination of Indira Gandhi. Khalra got abducted from outside his home by 6 police officers from Punjab and murdered in the police station.

Cbfc delayed certifying the film demanding 127 cuts and title change. However, the movie got released on Z5 after 2 years without cuts but later got removed after 2 days of OTT release.

  1. What exactly is the duty of CBFC?
  2. if Satluj has dancing car scenes like toxic, would it be treated differently?(stupid argument but visible bias is killing me)
  3. if Dhurandhar gets release with A certificate why can’t the same applied to Satluj or any such films?( paanch by Anurag Kashyap never seen a light of the day but a marathi movie

with same story starring Nana Patekar

  1. got released)
  2. is there any loophole like can we sell the rights to foreign studio and get it released outside India?

Random Story Pitch in i did in 2019. Here’s the story:

So here’s the story: back in my final yr of engg. I had this friend who always “bro ond 500 kodu. Ivat sanje ne haktini”. This one time he badly wanted some cash and ended up asking me. Knowing him, i said I don’t have extra cash. The next day he brings this guy and tells me that he’s an actor and currently working on a film. He hit me right where it mattered. I ended up giving him probably 1000 bucks because he introduced me to an insider lol. Guess what! He was not! The guy had a perfect plan coz he knew i always wanted to write

Now coming back to this post, I randomly found this pdf i mailed to that guy back in 2019. This was the scenario given by “rishab shetty films” like an audition but I couldn’t send this since the it was already past submission day!

KWM #008 - MACE Quotient & An Interaction with Sagar Manjunatha

Today’s writers' meetup at Cubbon Park was all about mastering structure. We sat down and tackled the MACE Quotient and turned raw ideas into concrete scenes. Everybody put on their creative hat and we had 4 great stories by the end of the exercise.

The Anecdotes:
We met 2 interesting characters. One a mimicry artist another a drunkard. First one was guy making ends meet with what he calls a talent. 2nd one apparently was “rishtedaar” of Modi as he calls it. Did his mbbs from Delhi and joined crime branch in Bombay. This hindered our discussions but sure lightened our mood up.

The MVP:
Sagar and his team joined us around 12. We discussed about “We were stupid” and everybody shared their feedbacks. We discussed about what we liked, what worked, whqt were the challenges faced during the shoot, the budget aspect and locations. He also told us about what other feedbacks he received. The interactions were so fruitful and would definitely helped us all learn something new today.
Special thanks to u/lifeaintaSunday for co-leading the meet.
Thank you u/adeno_gothilla for organising such events.
Thank you all the folks who showed up!

I request all the sub members to join and participate in the exercises. Trust me it will definitely help you!
