Satluj and CBFC
Satluj(Punjab’95) is a story about activist Jaswant Singh Khalra who gathered evidence of mass unlawful killings by Punjab Police after assassination of Indira Gandhi. Khalra got abducted from outside his home by 6 police officers from Punjab and murdered in the police station.
Cbfc delayed certifying the film demanding 127 cuts and title change. However, the movie got released on Z5 after 2 years without cuts but later got removed after 2 days of OTT release.
- What exactly is the duty of CBFC?
- if Satluj has dancing car scenes like toxic, would it be treated differently?(stupid argument but visible bias is killing me)
- if Dhurandhar gets release with A certificate why can’t the same applied to Satluj or any such films?( paanch by Anurag Kashyap never seen a light of the day but a marathi movie
with same story starring Nana Patekar
- got released)
- is there any loophole like can we sell the rights to foreign studio and get it released outside India?
