ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಅಂತಃಕರಣ ಮೀರಿ ಅವನ ಅಹಂಕಾರ ಬೆಳೆದರೆ, ಅವನ ಸಂಬಂದಗಳಾಗಲಿ, ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಅವನಾಗಲಿ ಉಳಿಯುವುದು ಕಠೀಣವಾಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವ ಕೃತಿ. ಗಂಗವ್ವನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಪುಸ್ತಕವು ಅವಳ ಸುತ್ತಲು ಬರುವ ಹಲವಾರು ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಯಾವ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಾಕದೆ ಅವಕ್ಕೊಂದು ಅಂತಿಮ ನಿರ್ಣಾವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಲೇಖಕರು ಸಫಲರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಧಾರವಾಡ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಆಡು ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ, ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೊ ಏನೋ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದುಗರಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ. ಆದರೆ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಓದಿದರೆ ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರ ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಆನಂದ ಸಿಗುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ…!

ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಇದೊಂದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಬರಹ ಎಂದೇ ಭಾವಿಸಿದ್ದೆ; ನನಗೆ ಬಿ. ಜಿ. ಎಲ್. ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಿಂಚಿತ್ತೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ಅವರ ಹಿರಿಮೆ, ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ತತ್ವಗಳು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಆವರಿಸಿವೆಯೆಂದರೆ, ಇಂದು ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮ ನಡುವೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ, ನನ್ನ ಜೀವವಿರುವವರೆಗೂ ಅವರೊಬ್ಬ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಯಾಗಿ, ಶಿಷ್ಯನಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತೇನೆ.

​ಇನ್ನು ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವುದಾದರೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮಾಜದ ಜಾತಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿ, ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕೊಳೆತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಕೊಳಕನ್ನೇ ನೆಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೆಳೆದ ಕೀಟಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಸವೆದುಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬ ನೋವನ್ನು ಬಿ. ಜಿ. ಎಲ್. ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹಾಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ನನಗೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪ್ರಸಂಗವೂ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಕಥೆಯೆಂಬಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಯಿತು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಪುಟದಲ್ಲೂ ಅವರ ಒಳಗಿನ ಚಡಪಡಿಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಾಡಿತು. ಕೆಲವು ಕಡೆ ನಗು ತರಿಸಿದರೂ, ಓದುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದಂತೆಲ್ಲ ಆ ಹಾಸ್ಯದ ಹಿಂದಿನ ನೋವು ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಚುಚ್ಚಿತು . ಇದೊಂದು ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಪುಸ್ತಕ, ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕಿಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹೇಳಬಲ್ಲೆ. ಯಾಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರ ಬರಹಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಮರ್ಶಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನಾನಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.

ಆಗಿನ ಕಾಲದ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಸಂಗವನ್ನು 'ಕನ್ನಡದ ಕೊಲೆ' ಎಂಬ ಒಂದು ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜಿಎಲ್ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಅವರು ಬರೆದಿದ್ದರು, ಆ ಭಾಗದ ಸಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಓದುವಾಗ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕಡೆ ಈಗ ಅದೆ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಬೇಸರವಾಯಿತು.

ನಾನು ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತೇನೆ. "ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಲದು. ಸಂಕೇತಿಯೂ ಬೇಕು," ಅಂತ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. 😁

ಇಂದು ಅವರದಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಉಡುಗೊರೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು. ಇದು ಅವರ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪುಸ್ತಕವು. ಅವರು ತಾನೆ ಭೈರಪ್ಪನವರ ವಂಶವೃಕ್ಷ ಎಂದು ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆ ಸಂಕೇತಿಗೆ ಅನುವಾದಿಸಿದರು.

ಎರಡು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸಂಕೇತಿಯಂದರೇನು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಶ್ರೀಕಾಂತ್ ಅವರ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ಈ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಇದೆ. 🔥🔥

ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಬ್ಲಾಸಮ್ ಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಮಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮದುಮಗಳು ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್ ಅನುವಾದದ ಕವರ್ ಪೇಜ್ ನೋಡಿದೆ. ಬಹಳ ರಿಪ್ರೇಶಿಂಗ್ ಎನಿಸಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಹಲವಾರು ಮರು ಮುದ್ರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದೆ ಆದರೂ ಅದರ ಕವರ್ ಪೇಜ್ ಯಾಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿತು. ಇದೇ ರೀತಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹಲವಾರು ಅಗ್ರ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ ಹಾಗೇ ಉಳಿದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಈಗ ಅದೊಂಥರಾ ಆ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳ ಗುರುತೇ ಆಗಿ ಹೋಗಿದೆ.

Our Subreddit started with curated learning, then we learned from practitioners through AMAs. Now we graduate to learning by doing.

The participants will be split into teams of 3 or 4 (depending on the number of people who turn up). Feel free to bring along your friends interested in filmmaking. Each team will have to finish a micro short film within the stipulated time. How much time each team will have depends on the number of teams & actors we find.

We will give every team two actors & a common storyline for their micro short (the teams will have ample room to adapt it to their style & genre).

Actors will be well prepared for their roles. We will also work with them to figure out how to record decent-quality audio. We will also try to provide a Cinematographer for every team.

ಪುಸ್ತಕ: ಅಪಾರ ಅವರ ಸರಿಗನ್ನಡಂ ಗೆಲ್ಗೆ

• I had already expressed my view about the book. Writing a review as a formality.
• An excellent collection of short stories written with Vasudhendra's trademark warmth & humour as the characters deal with their mistakes, insecurities, hopes, everyday struggles, & change.
• As always, he keeps the ball rolling, while still immersing the reader in the stories' worlds. Aspiring writers should study how he achieves the latter with only 2-3 sentences of details.
• Women are the protagonists in most of the short stories.
• Many stories are emotional rollercoasters. They can make you laugh at one point & sad a few pages later.

Loved it!

This is my dad's collection. He Had a lot more, he gave it all to some new library. So which one should I pick up for my first book in kannada.

Revisited Gruhabhanga for some reason, trying to come out of trauma again.
