First walking animation ever how would you rate it? Is there anything that I can improve? It feels a bit odd...
It feels like the legs are not switiching and moving how can i imrpove this? Should I use more frames?
It feels like the legs are not switiching and moving how can i imrpove this? Should I use more frames?
This is one of my first pixel art animation for my game how would you rate it? Is it satisfying enough?
I'm having an issue with this color board... What should I try to make it more obvious for arms. Should I change the color palette? How many colors should I use for the coat?
yo, I’m making a fast paced shooting game with a bit of a noir vibe, and I’m not really sure how many frames I should be using for the character animations.
I initially started with just 2 frames for walking/running, but I’m wondering if around 6 frames would be enough to make the movement feel smooth.
What would you recommend for:
Walking
Running
Shooting different guns
Idle animations
Since the game is fast paced, I don’t want to overdo the animation and make everything feel too slow, but there will also be slower moments where you’re listening to NPCs, investigating and collecting clues.
Would 6 frames be a good middle ground, or should I be using fewer/more depending on the animation?
I know that in game 1 pixel wouldn't make so much difference but I really wanted to have some opinion about this one!
I’m currently working on a 2D multiplayer sandbox game inspired by games like Growtopia and Pixel Worlds, and I’m looking for volunteer pixel artists who would be interested in helping with the project. The game uses a 32×32 pixel-based style, so familiarity with pixel art and tools such as Aseprite would be a big plus.
This is currently a indie project, so unfortunately I can’t offer payment at the moment. I’m mainly looking for people who enjoy pixel art and would like to contribute to a game that’s being developed from the ground up.
I've been working on a game for about a year now. Most of my frontend and backend systems are already set up, and I'm currently working on the art.
However, I have a question about the multiplayer/online side of things.
I'm using Unity 2D, but I honestly don't have a clear understanding of how the online system works for an MMO. How do players actually connect to the same server/world and communicate with each other?
I've heard about things like networking frameworks, dedicated servers, and backend/server applications that you add to your project, but I'm not really sure what the proper architecture would be for a 2D MMO.
Another thing I'm really concerned about is cheating/hacking. If I implement multiplayer, what's stopping a modified client from giving itself items, changing its position, spawning currency, etc.? How is this normally prevented?
I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain the basic architecture and what I should be learning/using (e.g. networking frameworks, dedicated servers, authoritative servers, etc.).
I'm not looking for a complete solution—I'd just like to understand how the whole system works before I start implementing it.
What I mean is i really want to create good pixel art for my game (blocks, grass, dirt, stone and items), but I'm really worried about what if everything goes wrong... I've done several blocks and items so far; it seems quite alright, but what if it seems so odd after I've done everything...
I'm mostly using saturated colors for my blocks and also using 3 colors for shadowing and 3 colors for brightening. I'm leaving a screenshot of my demo game here; please let me know if there is anything that looks odd. (and why)
I’m looking for some examples for my game need 32x32 grass/dirt block would be amazing if anyone can help me with that..
