The Conquest debate we will never have the answer for.
Im gonna get straight to the point here without trying to sound conceited or arrogant because i AM posting this to also start a "healthy" debate in which i am more than happy to be proven wrong..
People need to realize that Conquest has never shown to take a fight seriously IN THE STORY of Invincible. This does not make him "weak", in fact i think it probably fuels the sentiment of "being second to Thragg in strength" because as the show has stated, he survived the Scourge, he survived the purge of Viltrumites, he was one of the FEW who initially wanted the smoke from Thragg, he survived Battle Beast ( upcoming comic ), he survived losing his right arm in battle, and the level of destruction he displayed from "playing" with Mark is city level.
Im not here to glaze Conquest, despite this post looking like one, i just hate that the show also took out some key dialogue moments in his second fight with Mark...
The show went pretty close to the comics for the second fight BUT when Mark initially tackled him away from Oliver, Mark clarified ( mostly for the reader ) that he knocked ALL of the air out of Conquest. That's why he wasnt even able to say anything when mark was choking him, not even a rasp. And that is why he was reckless in trying to get him off.
Point being.
- Omni Man is NOT stronger than Conquest, he puts up a way better fight than Mark but after the beating the Guardians gave him in the show, and Season 4 existing...Omni Man is very susceptible to bone breaking attacks from Conquest, the one thing for sure though that Nolan has going for him is being able to break Conquest's metal arm. That is where i think the fight is up in the air for debate honestly.
- as Kirkman said, Mark vs Conquest is comparable to the weaker team in a sports league going against the pros, however the weaker team wins because they wanted it that much more than the pros.
- Mark was LUCKY that Conquest brushed him off to go for Oliver, which leads to him being able to knock the oxygen out of Conquest which further debilitates him from fighting Mark off ( although pulling the rope out of the hat trick was a huge "fuck you" before Mark killed him ) the fight would have been a repeat of round 1 except Eve isnt there to blast him.
- EVEN MORE SO. If Eve wasn't around, Conquest would have won against mark after his ( noteworthy ) monologue.
Conquest was not weak, putting him on fraud watch for being 0-2 is like laughing at Pacquiao for losing against Mayweather. It completely dismisses the point of Mark getting the upper hand on his opponents from
- getting aid when it is offered despite the repercussions of said aid being present.
- Locking the fuck in when the opportunity arises. ( corny i know but it is a reoccurring theme )
P.S this post was made as a healthy distraction towards things going on. Just getting a debate/discussion going without trying to insult anyone
