Green street realty when I get you.
Picked up my packet earlier this week and they gave me 6 keys and none of them are for my apartment unit, bedroom door, or mail box. One of them is from Uhaul. no one is answering me

I'm not in greek life, but I really want to work at Kams or Lion and I know enough people to make sure I get enough tabs. But tbh id do it for the love of the game. I even know the schedule just has your name and what greek org ur in 😭. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get a job there and prove you know enough people without having a referral of someone in your house.
Edit for clarification: I intended on picking up my paycheck for my last "paystub" (in quotes bc I've never received one ever) when I got back to campus but it was over the summer where I started getting ghosted and let go. This paystub would've been between when finals ended, and the beginning of June
I worked at a relatively small, but growing coffee shop on campus my freshman and sophomore year (now going into my junior year). I absolutely loved it; I even posted social media videos which opened up a lot of doors for myself and brought so many new customers in. I stopped working there in June since I was beginning a summer internship in the city. During that internship, I received a very blindsided text from the owner saying:
Hey so we have been discussing next year and from a consensus we won’t bring you back. You are not the only person. But we have made changes all summer and there are new people in leading positions and their decisions are to hire new people.
I reached out to all of the managers and have been ghosted the entire summer and followed up almost every week. I haven't received a paycheck either. The owner recently onboard an admin assistant since this coffee shop is also inside a dorm hall and the law school building he manages so I reached out to her with no response. After reaching out to the previous manager of last year, which honestly I shouldn't have had to, he finally called me and said that more existing people wanted to keep their hours so they decided to cut me and 2 other people. Today I found out they never cut anyone and I was the only one. He also mentioned that the managers intentionally didn't want to confront me. So I haven't received a coherent answer to why I was let go, OR RECEIVED A PAYCHECK!!!
Ever since I've worked there, I haven't received a paystub and I didn't even know that was normal until I started my internship. Our hours are logged on a piece of paper, and sometimes on the back of receipt paper. I really want to go to student legal services but I was never given any documentation to begin with. I know the matcha and coffee at this location are good BUT PLEASE DONT GO THERE ANYMORE
Hi everyone! I moved out on May 31st, and ended my service with Ameren as well on that same date. I shouldn't owe anything from Ameren and I usually get automatic deductions when i do pay my utilities. Yesterday I went onto my portal for Green Street Realty showing that I owe $50 in utilities including an "inconvenience fee". On my portal, was a paper pdf that was scanned in. My name wasn't even on it, it just said my address and unit number. I don't have any utilities that I pay for through GSR. I called Ameren and they said there was no bill to my account at all for the month of June. I was wondering if anyone has ran into this same issue?
I'm living in Evanston over the summer for an internship and I would love to use the beaches! Is there any way to get a pass at a cheaper price even though I'm a non resident? It says online you can show proof of residency through a utility bill or license but my license is out of state and I have a really unofficial sublease
This is a 2022 LT. Im in a new city for an internship and I wrecked my bumper. I am extremely pissed off because I don't even know of a reliable mechanic and I'm also on an intern salary. The signal works but it doesn't look cosmetically pleasant and I'm also worried this affects my high beams and headlights
I am so tired of seeing so many questions on Reddit about the same things over and over and not only that, but questions that have been answered already multiple times or could literally be Googled. The only thing that drives me more insane is the influx of parents asking questions on Facebook. I literally saw someone ask if their child could opt out of the meal plan because they are picky, see their grades, and RENT a dorm to be near their child. Most of your questions can be answered using Google!
I'm subleasing for the summer for an internship in a new state. From what I understand Im actually the 5th or 6th subletter on the lease this year, so my roommates don't really care to get to know me. So basically, they are all random.
A couple of them moved out for summer which left me and one girl. She told me her family would visit and I thought it was fine. When they came I asked how long they'd be staying and she said that they'd stay for a weekend, they'd all leave for a 1 week vacation. Then come back and stay for a week. And then repeat the cycle over until july 14th, which is more than a month.
They've only been here for 2 days and I am miserable. Her parents accidentally walk in my room and have done it more than once. They keep all the cleaning supplies I've bought for myself. I tried to eat in the dining room but her family was there and she left them unattended. None of them speak English which leaves a cultural boundary and they don't seem to want to get to know me either.
All my things in the fridge are re arranged. I like to keep my silverware separated since I'm only living here temporarily and they are all mixed up. They use my personal appliances which I already told my roommates only I want to use (ninja creami, kitchen aid). I can't even use the kitchen because her mom is ALWAYS. LIKE ALWAYS. In there cooking and taking up counter space and fridge space for all this food. Not to mention. They aren't quick to put this all away either.
I have no idea what to do because they are from India and I know culturally it's more normal to have family stay with you. But this is crossing my boundaries. Ive only been living here for 2 weeks which makes me intimidated to say anything. But I pay rent too, and its not a fairly small amount. I need all and any advice PLEASE 😭😭
If you are moving out please let me know if you are planning to sell some kitchen items! I am looking for measuring cups, whisks, metal bowls, silverware, and silverware holders!
Hi I'm a UIUC student living an apartment on campus for the summer. My internship is in a neighboring suburb. I brought my car up with me so I could commute. Unfortunately, my apartment complex doesn't have a parking garage and there doesn't seem to be street parking either. The building is across from the YWCA and I'm not sure if I can park there overnight. I saw that 1718 Oak Ave is a parking garage on google maps, but I don't know what the process is to get a pass there. If you have a parking spot near there you are willing to rent out to me for the summer, or have any general knowledge, please let me know this is urgent!!
Hello! I am a student at the University of Illinois, but but my home is in Florida. This summer I will be staying in Evanston for my internship. I shipped my car up so I could commute to work in another neighboring suburb. When I put my address in Google Maps, it gave me three different options. I talked to some friends (who aren't locals) and they all gave me different answers. I was wondering which route would be the easiest, less accident prone, and maybe quickest. I've seen the traffic in Chicago and it can be quite intimidating, especially since I've never driven in busy interstates like this before. Please let me know what you would do + any other words of encouragement :)
