Building confidence

Today's world, at least in the western world, us over 30s exist alongside a growing more liberated youth being able to express themselves and their gender identities, whilst alongside this we tend to be seen having to be past this, expected to fit the norm, expected to grow up with a life, responsibilities, careers... Stinks of a perception when people see this as just a phase.

It's a brave thing to express and embrace ourselves whatever generation, but navigating this as we get older where societal norms often pushes us even more to the fringes of society... It's tough, I feel my friends and family are growing more critical, and you are having to mask more just to get on in life.

Days away from work and finding time for yourself is important. I hope with the next generation we'll see a shift in acceptance in the norm that we don't all fit into a box for society.

It's ok to be yourself 😊

How to tell your therapist your trans?

(Edit: how to tell your therapist you're trans - my grammar!)

I started with a new therapist. I boymode 90% of the time, I feel like I need to be much further down the road with transitioning (voice and facial hair removal are massive to me) before I'm out. First session I just felt like I looked like some middle aged guy having a crisis and I've already messed it up by not going to the first session fem presenting.

I know they won't judge, at least I hope not... But how did others come out at this stage?

I was a ball of nerves skirting around the topic 😔

Got to that millennial point in my life where they sticking cameras in me (TW for health)

Finally had to bite the bullet, suffering pain for months. Got the both ends experience and stuff was found but nothing immediately life threatening, although gotta wait for the biopsy results.

My gosh has it been a whirlwind. Resolving myself to death several times over the last 2 months 😅 I feel like I can finally get myself back on track. Looking forward to finding me a nice outfit and head for a night out in town.

I guess obligatory PSA if you can and you've got stuff worrying you, get yourself seen. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I might be a little high AF right now 😅 the worst part is just the prep to making sure you are all clear before they go in.

Unrelated pic but I felt cute 😊

[DOS][1993?] Early RTS dos game with spiders

Hi all,

There is a game I've been searching for and wondered if you could help!

It was an early RTS dos game, possibly turn based. It had these black blocky spider sprites that seemed to swarm the map, you played as a fantasy human race with knights fighting the spiders. I think the map had hexagonal movement tiles but it's been so long so maybe not.

Not sure of the year it came out, but I played it at the same time as Dune II, Wing Commander 1 and 1912-1914 history zone (battle zone?) on an old Amstrad computer.

Edit: it looks very similar to "Ambush at Sorinor" for DOS or "Siege" with the open battlefield and the way troops were highlighted in that green / yellow dotted square.

I don't aim to post often but in light of what's happening in blighty...

Sharing a beaker of cheap wine with my wife and karaoke to bring the mood up and have a fun evening (selfie unrelated, I'm way past 9 o'clock to be presentable tonight).

Not prompting discussion (plenty of it in other trans subs on the recent UK news).

What's everyone's go to song?

We love our show tunes, country, English punk/folk rock (Frank Turner, The Levellers anyone?), and sass (Gloria Gaynor, Tina Turner, Mika... Hello!)

Just waiting for my hair to grow out and for my face hair to be obliterated 😅

Until then it's all about practicing and improving my makeup 😊

I tried a cooler tone thanks to a few helpful suggestions from another subreddit. No peach colour corrector this time round, so the laser hair removal is doing its work after 5 sessions! Can't wait until I can have a more natural / lighter base!

Hagify me, what can I improve?

I really just want something to go well with the skirt 😊 any ideas? I tend to go down the corset / dirndl route with high waist skirts but be nice to find something different.

Edit: just want to give a huge thank you to everyone, you've all given me so much to think about 😊 I'll follow up in a couple of weeks once I've worked on this look ❤️

It adds up doesn't it? Not really in a country that you could call you have access to free healthcare, less you want to toil away for 5 years on a wait list and challenged at your every turn.

* Therapy

* Laser and electrolysis

* Private diagnosis

* Private bloods

* Private prescription

* Hair loss treatment / transplant

* Possible FFS

* Updating identity / passport

Have I missed anything?

I wish life could have been more simple and my brain told me I just needed a boat or something 😅

Anyways, check out my nails 😁

Edit: this of course is a personal thing to each of us 😊 you are all valid regardless of the path you choose and how you identify.
