I had bad skin and no idea what to do, so I built Sharp: scan your face, get a skin score, get a routine that adapts every week

Hey everyone,

I'm Esat, a student and solo dev from Germany. I had bad skin for years and did what most guys do about it: nothing, then random products, then nothing again. Nobody teaches you this stuff and asking feels embarrassing, so you just guess.

Sharp is the app I wanted back then. I posted it here a month ago right after launch and it's come a long way since.

**What it does**

You scan your face, about 60 seconds. You get a skin score from 0 to 100 across 6 dimensions: pimples, pores, eye bags, oiliness, redness and hydration, mapped to where on your face each one sits.

Then you get a daily routine, around 3 minutes morning and evening, with specific products instead of categories. Every week you scan again and the plan adapts to whatever actually changed.

And since last month you can point your camera at any skincare product and Sharp tells you whether it fits your skin, with a match score and the reasoning behind it. It will also tell you when a good product is wrong for you specifically.

**Why I think it's better**

The weekly re-scan is the core. Most skin apps hand you a routine once and never look at you again. Sharp measures whether the thing it recommended is working and changes it if not.

Everything else is built around actually sticking with it: reminders, a streak, and a Live Activity so your routine is on your lock screen instead of in an app you forget.

**Cost**

Free download, the scan and your skin score are free. Premium unlocks the full routine, product matching, Product Check and weekly adaptation: $29.99 per, or $59.99 lifetime.

I built a skincare app for guys that scans your face and adapts your routine every week

Hey everyone,

I'm a student and solo dev from Germany. I built Sharp because I had skin problems myself and had no clue what to actually do about them. Every skincare app I found was either made for women or just a list of generic tips.

How it works:

- You scan your face, takes about 60 seconds
- You get a skin score from 0-100 across 6 dimensions: pimples, pores, eye bags, oiliness, redness and hydration
- Based on that you get a daily routine that takes about 3 minutes, with specific products matched to your results
- Every week you re-scan, and the plan adapts based on what actually changed

I also just shipped a product scanner: point your camera at any skincare product and it tells you if the ingredients fit your skin.

Launched about 3 weeks ago and I'm still fixing things based on feedback, so if you try it and something feels off, tell me. I ship fast.

I built Sharp, a skincare app for guys that scans your face and builds a routine that adapts every week

Hey everyone,

Who I am: My name is Esat, I'm a student and solo developer from Germany. Sharp is my second app and I'm building it in public. You can verify me through the App Store developer page and my GitHub (east-app-dev). Contact: [daybeeaapp-privacy@web.de]

Privacy Policy: https://east-app-dev.github.io/Sharp-Skincare-Routine/privacy.html

Terms of Service: https://east-app-dev.github.io/Sharp-Skincare-Routine/terms.html

I built Sharp because I had skin problems myself and no idea what to actually do about them. Most guys I know either guess with random products or just give up.

A - What problem does it solve?

You scan your face and get a skin score from 0-100 across 6 dimensions: pimples, pores, eye bags, oiliness, redness and hydration. So instead of guessing what's wrong, you get a clear picture of where your skin actually stands.

B - Why is it better?

- The weekly re-scan is the core of the app. Every week you scan again, and your plan and products adapt based on what actually changed. If something isn't working, Sharp adjusts it. No static routine that ignores your progress.

- Concrete product recommendations, not categories. You don't get "use a cleanser", you get specific products matched to your scan results, with direct links.

- A daily routine plan that takes about 3 minutes. Morning and evening steps, checked off in the app.

- Staying on track is built in: reminders for your routine, a streak, and a Live Activity on your lock screen and Dynamic Island so your routine is always one glance away.

C - Cost

Free download, the scan and your skin score are free. Premium unlocks the full routine, product matching and weekly adaptation: 4.99 weekly, 39.99 per year (with a 3 day free trial), or 79.99 lifetime.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6780025151

I read every piece of feedback and ship fixes fast, so I'd genuinely love to hear what you think, good or bad.

[iOS] [$79.99 Lifetime -> FREE] Sharp: Ai Face Scan & men’s Skincare Routine

Hey r/GenAiApps,

I'm a student and the solo dev behind Sharp, an iPhone app that gives guys a clear answer to a simple question: what is actually wrong with my skin, and what should I do about it?

Most guys who want better skin end up guessing. Random products, random routines, no idea if anything works. So I built Sharp.

How it works:

- Scan your face, takes about 60 seconds

- The AI analyzes your skin and gives you a Skin Score from 0-100 across 6 dimensions: pimples, pores, eye bags, oiliness, redness and hydration

- You get a personalized daily routine with products matched to your skin. Just 3 minutes a day

- A weekly re-scan tracks your progress and adapts the plan if something isn't working

Free Lifetime Giveaway

Normally $79.99 Lifetime.

To celebrate the launch (released today!), I'm giving away a batch of Lifetime codes to this subreddit.

Just DM me with “CODE” and upvote the post. I'll reply with a personal one-time link. Tap it and the App Store opens with your Lifetime access ready to redeem.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6780025151

One small ask: I built Sharp alone over the past months, next to school. If you try it and it actually helps you, an honest App Store review would be the best way to say thanks. It's by far the biggest thing you could do for a small app like mine right now. But please only review if you've genuinely used it.

I'll be around answering questions about the app, the vision AI behind the scan, indie development, and anything else.

Thanks for checking it out!

I just shipped DayBe 3.6. The whole UI now shifts with your day (morning/midday/evening), curious what you think

Hey r/productivityapps,

I've been building DayBe solo as a side project and just pushed version 3.6. Wanted to share what changed because it's a bigger update than usual.

What's new in 3.6:

Dynamic design & background: The whole visual feel of the app now changes throughout the day. Morning, midday, evening and night each have a different look. It sounds subtle but it makes the app feel alive in a way it didn't before.

Daily State Banner: Now has 4 distinct aesthetic illustrations per state (morning calm, focused, winding down, etc.). The banner was already a core part of the product, this just made it feel way more intentional.

Redid the App Store screenshots: The old ones didn't do the app justice. New ones finally show what it actually feels like to use it.

Improved ASO: Reworked keywords and metadata to better reach people who actually need this.

Onboarding changes: Some flow adjustments to make the first experience clearer and more psychologically resonant.

For context on what DayBe actually does: you brain-dump your day into it, it reads your note + your current energy/sleep state, and generates a structured daily plan with a "why?" explanation for every decision it makes. The banner always shows your next task and adapts to your day phase.

It's designed for people who feel overwhelmed in the morning and just want something to tell them what to do next without the usual productivity app friction.

Happy to answer questions! Especially curious if the dynamic theming is something others care about or if it's just an aesthetic detail that doesn't matter to most users.

I built a daily planner that structures your day from your brain dump - not just another to-do list [Free]

Most planning apps give you a blank canvas and call it flexibility.

DayBe does the opposite.

You write down everything that’s in your head.

Tasks, appointments, random thoughts and DayBe builds your actual day around it.

What to do, when, and a short reason why. Fresh every single day.

If a task window passes and you didn’t get to it, one tap moves it to a “later” bucket. No guilt. It shows up as a suggestion tomorrow, ready to roll over instantly.

Free to get started.

Would love feedback from this community!

I’ve been experimenting a lot with daily planning lately and the biggest problem I keep running into isn’t the planning itself, it’s what happens when the day goes off-script. Do you reschedule everything manually? Just let it go? Carry tasks over to tomorrow?

Curious how this community deals with it.

Hey r/iOSapps 👋

I’ve been building DayBe for a while now and just wanted to share it here.

The idea is simple: most planning apps give you a blank canvas and expect you to figure out the rest. DayBe is different — you just dump everything that’s on your mind, and the app structures your actual day around it. What to do first, when, and why.

Every day is planned fresh. Not a recurring template, not a habit tracker — it looks at what you have today and builds around that.

It’s free to use (freemium), no paywall to get started.

Would love any feedback from this community 🙏
