Does this exist???

Before I literally make this myself on canva and get it printed…wanted to see if someone knows of this exists. I need a planner/notebook that really only has: monthly calendar pages, pages for to do lists (weekly or daily), and then notes pages. That’s it. Would love it be hard or soft bound (not spiral) and be nice paper

Need Help understanding Sterling Ink Planner Types

The Comparison Guide on the website shows that Common, Core, and Complete are all 3 different planner types. But the "Academic" planner is not on the comparison guide, but it appears all planners are now the "Academic" version, as looking at Complete planners The Description for all planner is ".... Academic Complete Full Year Common Planner...." and when looking at Common planners the Description is "...Academic Planner Full year Common Planner...." Core looks like it might be discontinued.
I also don't understand the Daily weekly and monthly Dated Inserts. are those extra upgrade charges because more printing is involved but the inserts come as part of the planner you ordered. or are they just loose dated pages for use on the side?

It is so frustrating because I have been looking for Paper Planner for years and never found anything I liked (I don't need a Data management system or a second brain) All I wanted was a clean minimal (but well designed) Planner to keep track Dates and events.
But It seems very difficult to tell if there are in fact different products, and if there are it seems impossible to know what planner you are ordering.

Favorite undated Planners

Hello all!

I am looking for recommendations for an undated planner. I struggle to use regular and want to try undated and see hiw it goes. Either a5 or a4 in size and fountain pen friendly.

TIA!!😊

FP-friendly Weeks or similar-sized planner with daily pages AND 2-page weekly spreads (US)

Hi, planner friends! I’ve been using a Hobonichi Weeks for appointments, tasks, and note-taking and a Hobonichi Cousin for daily logs, tracking habits, and memory-keeping this year. The system’s been ok, and the paper is great for my fountain pens, but I would love to have everything in one place and portable enough for my purse.

In an ideal world, the daily pages for each week would follow the weekly pages, but that’s not essential. I have no preference when it comes to horizontal or vertical weekly pages. I just need space on those pages for adding weekly tasks.

Any recommendations?

Cousin Avec Alternatives?

I love my Hobonichi, the paper, everything! I just feel like I’m wasting pages.

I never use the monthly/weekly layouts. I am simply using it for a daily journal/junk journal. I use fountain pens and markers often, I love the TRP and how it handles those.

I’m just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for something that is the same size and doesn’t have those monthly/weekly pages. My full year Cousin got too chunky for me so I prefer the Avec.

Am I asking too much? Should I just get a grid TRP notebook and date it myself? If so which one should I get in A5 size?

Downsized from Pocket Luxe to Regular Pocket and loving it!!

Hey y’all!

I’ve had a Moterm Pocket Luxe for a year and a half, and I really enjoyed it (see my old posts). When it first arrived, despite the 30 mm rings, I couldn’t imagine it holding everything I needed. Well it was more than enough space, and fast forward now, I’ve decided to try downsizing to a Moterm Regular pocket with the 19 mm rings, and omg it’s so perfect!

While the 30 mm rings are spacious and very useful, it got to the point where several of my sections were just pretty or nice to have, but they were far from used on a regular basis. I also loved the idea of the even more portable option of the regular pocket, being able to fit in my smaller purses.

It’s so cute!! I love the color, and it’s works great with my deco at the moment. It’s so lightweight, and just perfect for now. I can absolutely imagine pulling out my 30 mm rings again later on if other life things arise where I need to keep track of other things.

Take it from me, don’t be afraid to downsize if you’re considering it! Especially with the right inserts you can fit a lot into one of these little guys.

Have a great weekend!

Planner Season Survival Guide - Summer/Fall 2026

Hello r/planners! This post is meant to share some tips and info as we all make our decisions on which planner(s) we'll be picking up in 2027. It'll include both some general suggestions and details on releases for some of the more popular brands that get discussed on the sub.

As a reminder, if you'd like to make a post to ask for a planner recommendation, please give us as much info as you can to help guide the suggestions. At a minimum, it would be helpful to know some basics about what style planner you're looking for (bookbound, discs, rings, daily, weekly, etc.), the size range you're interested in, budget, and the country you live in. Telling us a little about your lifestyle will also be helpful; our recommendations for a college student, a working parent, and a retiree may be pretty different.

Recommendation threads tend to get the most responses when they include enough detail to give users a picture of your needs, but if you're looking for something really specific, you'll probably get more responses if you can split your wishlist into must-haves and general preferences.

Planner Season Tips:

  • Once you decide which planner you want, order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Many of the brands recommended here are small businesses with limited stock, and they may sell out of the size/color/layout you're most interested in. They may or may not offer restocks.
  • If you preorder a planner, pay close attention to the estimated delivery timeline. You may want to keep tabs on the brand's social media channels for news or updates. Remember that preorder shipping estimates are based on things going as planned and that delays from the factory or shipping agent may be outside the brand's control.
  • If you want to follow the news about a particular planner, many brands have private Facebook groups that are probably your best resource for this. Signing up for a brand's email newsletter should get you the basics, but the private groups may get extra previews and more detailed information.
  • Keep in mind that many of these businesses will be dealing with a very high volume of orders despite having limited space and staff. That's not to say you shouldn't expect good customer service, but having realistic expectations will help. When ordering during peak planner season, your order will probably take a little longer to pack and ship.
  • If you're a US customer, remember that tariffs may still be causing higher prices this year—even from US sellers, who still need to pay fees on products they order from overseas. The closing of the de minimis exemption also means that you might be charged extra if ordering from a seller outside the US. Don't like that? Contact your federal representatives, and vote in November for candidates who'll prioritize more consumer- and small business-friendly policies. (The specifics can vary depending on what the product is, what country it's coming from, and how they ship, so these fees may already be built into the cost of the planner. When in doubt, look for details!)

I'll update the release info below as I see updates mentioned, but this is not meant to be a comprehensive list of available planners. It's just the most recent info I've come across for brands that tend to get mentioned in r/planners.

Many planners haven't released much info about their 2027 lineups yet, but more info should be coming out in July-August for most brands.

Preorders are already open for:

  • Creffective Paper
  • Faded Chronicle
  • Hemlock & Oak
  • Rosey Life
  • Wonderland 222

Feel free to share updates about the brands you follow below. (This is meant to share info on releases our users are excited about though, so the r/planners rule against self-promotion still applies. Please keep all promo to our quarterly promotional threads.)

I just pre ordered a Hemlock&Oak Horizontal

Who knows if it was a good idea. I've been waffling between this or if I should wait for Sterling Ink. It seems, though, as if I have to work less in customizing it myself with the H&O than I would have to with the Sterling Ink. I want to make it my own but I don't want to work too hard at it. I also like the look of the H&O. I got it in Wild Rose. I downloaded the pdf version first so I know what it looks like inside at least. Did anybody else pre order from them?

Interesting paper options / TRP alternatives for 2027?

Hi everyone, I may have an unpopular opinion in that I enjoyed the fact that so many planner companies were experimenting with alternatives to Tomoe River paper last year when it was clear that there were widespread manufacturing issues with that particular paper. I absolutely loved the Cosmo Air 83gsm paper in Sterling Ink’s 2026 Core planner, for example. But I’m doubtful they will bring that back, as I understand there was/is (?) a shortage of that paper.

I am wondering if there are other companies offering higher gsm paper options alongside or instead of their TRP options. At this point, I am considering a Hemlock & Oak cloth flex planner but as someone living in the U.S., the import from Canada is going to cost me. I will be traveling to the UK in September (peak planner season!) and am open to options that may be more readily available in the UK and Europe.

TLDR: I have no particular problem with Tomoe River Paper in my planners and often enjoy it, but I am curious as to what else is out there. Especially for minimal, vertical weekly layout planners. (No Happy Planner, Erin Condrin, or similarly styled suggestions, and no Amazon/Temu/AliEx, items please).

June doodle spread

I tend to just lurk around in this thread but I’m really happy with my June doodle spread so I wanted to share! I don’t use the monthly view in my planner so I just fill it daily with a new drawing. ❤️

Custom Planner Inserts

Hi! I'd like a pretty specific planner insert/notebook. Does anyone know of someone who will custom design/print them?

I'd like it to be 2-page monthly calendar spreads followed by horizontal week-per-page (meaning laying open the left side page is a horizontal week and the right side page is another week spread). No extra notes pages, no extra frills. Could be split between two inserts, A5 size, must be on fountain pen friendly paper. I'd be willing to print myself if someone could design it as an A5 traveler's notebook insert.

Thanks for your help!

Planner/ journal usage

So I have been in the planner community for decades. I have used just about every system out there. I’ve done the customs, bullet journals, you name it. But as I watch people on YouTube show their techo kaigi, ecosystem, whatever you call it, I am just wondering if people in real life buy 5-14+ planners/ journals all at one time to use for one year???

Me personally: I found I cannot use more than two books unless in a TN. I feel like my contentment is bullet journaling in a TN.

So I am curious if people who are not on the interwebs haul a large amount of planners and journals at one time and actually use them all because I do see people in the comments consigning so I am just wondering if it’s a real thing.

Follow-Up Question: Planner/ journal usage

Is anyone out there confused when people mention that they have a catch-all planner, but then they have 5+ other planners? Like isn't the catch-all supposed to catch-all? Am I the only one confused? And multiple everyday carries...

I was so perplexed I google the term catch-all planner and this is what Cloth & Paper says "A catch-all planner includes all aspects of your planning in one place ⸺ calendars, task lists, meal plans, goals, notes, work planning, home planning, and more. This is a great option for those that prefer to use one planner instead of separating planning by functionality. By keeping all of your inserts in one place while still using organization for the different aspects of your planning lifestyle, you can create your perfect catch-all planner!:"

So...did we over time just change the meaning of catch-all? Someone please explain....

Hourly planning for someone with a very flexible schedule.

My whole life is built around my time being flexible. I don't have kids but I take care of several dogs, help my husband with his business, and help a few elderly family members with cooking, exercise, etc. I do sometimes take them to appointments so those are set times but, otherwise, my "schedule" is built on flexibility. When someone needs something, I need to be able to get up and go. However, I also need to go to the gym several times per week for my own health and I would love reading time, etc. but those things just never happen. I wondered about using an hourly planner but, this sounds pitiful, I have no idea how I would use it in MY situation. There aren't really that many set times for things, other than the occasional appointment. Any ideas or tips for me? Thanks!

Game-ifying Cooking/Dinner Planning

Excuse my terrible handwriting and lack of cute journaling ability. 😂

But I’ve been having fun doing a reading challenge where you use a board game-style board to choose what books to read (from the 52 book club if you’re interested.) So I thought I could make something similar for cooking. (I love to cook but the planning can be a chore!)

I roll a die and plan a meal based on the prompt I land on. Also, each die # is assigned a cuisine. So if I first rolled a 1, I would make an Indian meal under $15.

If I land on the swap space, I swap out one of the cuisines on my list going forward.

If I land on one of the “chance” spots, I roll again to choose which chance “card” I’ll do (chance spaces are not restricted by cuisine.)

If I land on the “free” space, I roll again, but the next prompt I land on can now be any cuisine.

Hobonichi questions

I want to treat myself in 2027 with a Hobonichi weeks planner *IF* I can stick with my planner the rest of this year (going strong since April) but I noticed that the actual Hobonichi weeks planner doesn’t start until April? What am I supposed to do from January to March? My current planner ends at January 3rd 🫠

What is a good way to use this planner? Help please

So I got this as a gift and this is my first time getting this kind of planner. I have no idea how to use it or what is the envelope's purpose in all of this.

Appreciate suggestions of innovative ways to use it especially as it seems to be a monthly one (Aylar means month in Turkish) and fitting a monthly plan here doesn't seem doable for me?! I would probably fill the whole page on a daily basis and my sentences wouldn't fit a line in just one box.
