Just wanted to watch a gun video, guess I have to sit through disgusting antisemitic dog whistles

I guess this is the state of the internet these days. I put on a video from a huge gun YouTuber and apparently have to listen to dog-whistle references about Jews being demonic idol worshippers and jokes invoking the number of Holocaust victims who were murdered and dumped into mass graves.

Everything is jokes, huh?

I just visited my grandmother the other day. She escaped Poland with her cousin as a little girl. Her parents and siblings who stayed behind were stripped naked and machine-gunned into a ravine alongside the other civilians from their town. This isn't ancient history. Survivors are alive and well.

So yeah, it hurts hearing jokes that invoke this stuff and be reminded that people still believe this, who justify or believe in the ideology that wants my family and community exterminated, while I'm just trying to watch a video about a rifle.

Timestamps:

03:40 — “…it’s almost like they used the souls of the 271,000.”

This is said while discussing the remarkable accuracy of an HK rifle—a German rifle. “271,000” is a number circulated in Holocaust-denial/neo-Nazi spaces as supposed evidence from a red cross casualty report against the mainstream six million number of Jewish victims of the Holocaust. In that context, hearing a joke about Germans having “used the souls of the 271,000” to harness power is pretty fucking disgusting.

19:35 — “This is a rifle that is prepared for war and prepared to put down the followers of Baal.”

Baal is an ancient Canaanite deity repeatedly condemned in the Hebrew Bible, including in passages involving idolatry and child sacrifice. References to Jews as satanic/demonic, idol worshippers, ritual murderers, and child killers also have a very long history in antisemitism. I didn't know we're back to Medieval times and blood libels.

I just wanted to watch a fucking gun video. It's depressing that this is where parts of the internet are in 2026. Openly confidant to spread this vile crap.

One carrier for slick + overt use: M210 + IIIA backers vs HighCom 4S16 Level IV?

I’m trying to build one scalable plate carrier setup rather than having separate slick and overt carriers.

I have a Dynamics Principles SPLC 2.0 that I can run very slick for lower-profile/civilian use, then scale up with a structural cummerbund, placard, shoulder pads, side plates, etc. for an overt/security or direct action setup.

The main thing I’m trying to figure out is plates.

I’m currently between:

  • Hesco M210 special threat: ~0.61", ~5 lb — much thinner/lighter and seems better suited to the slick configuration.
  • HighCom 4S16 Level IV: ~0.75", ~7.3 lb — still relatively thin for Level IV, but obviously heavier and thicker.

My thought with the M210 would be to run it standalone when keeping the carrier slick, then potentially add IIIA backers when running the carrier overt for additional soft-armor coverage/performance for backface deform.

The alternative is just buying the 4S16 and having Level IV protection all the time, accepting the extra ~0.14" thickness and ~2.3 lb per plate in the covert slick setup.

Basically, if you wanted one plate set that could reasonably go from slick/concealable to a fully overt setup, which route would you take? Also, for anyone who has actually worn the 4S16 under a jacket/hoodie or in a low-profile carrier: is 0.75" still realistically concealable, or is the M210 noticeably better for that role?

Thanks appreciate it!

Are used molded Katanas with Elbit tubes ($4–5k) the best budget entry into duals?

I’m looking to buy my first set of dual tubes and have been doing a lot of research.

I was starting by looking into the Jerry-31s with NNVT tubes for around $4,000 new. However, I’ve recently come across several used molded Katanas housings with Elbit Gen 3 tubes in the $4,000–5,000 range.

From what I’ve read, it seems like spending roughly $1,000 more for Gen 3 Elbits in a quality housing is a much better long-term value than buying new NNVT binos.

Am I missing anything here? Is there anything that I’m overlooking, or is this generally considered the smarter route or best option for someone on a budget buying their first bino? Thanks
