Alias Users - How do you manage your aliases ?

Hey all, I recently started to use the alias service more and I love it. It integrates so well when using it with your own custom domain.

One question that I have always thought of though since using the service is 'does this need an alias'? So my question here is, at what point do you use an alias and when do you not use an alias?

For example: Should I be using an alias for my utility bill accounts, banking, PayPal etc?

Keen to hear what other people do!

VPS 2026 / 2027 Range updated? Now what?

So we took out VPS 4 before it was discontinued back in December 2025. OVH have now released their VPS 2027 range and offers a lower spec VPS in the 4 range.

What happens now with us still using the 2026 range? Do we need to look at migrating our stuff to a new 2027 VPS before a specific deadline or? I’ve seen discussion about it in discord but nobody has confirmed fully yet.

Folders? Any insights to this?

So today i've taken out a Proton Subscription as I am giving it a go and testing out mostly proton pass and proton VPN. Coming over from BitWarden and my first hurdle that I have noticed is that folders don't exist in Proton Pass?

I do love how you can create seperate vaults which is handy for when it comes to managing multiple businesses but I would like to go a step further and arrange some of my items into folders within that vault. Is this a thing with Proton Pass or something that is coming soon?

Best places for working on a laptop? (Maybe with coffee?)

Hey,

Just looking to try out some new places. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best places to sit in for a few hours with your laptop ? I work at home a lot and love to get out for a while.

Coffee shops, pubs etc with decent WiFi too? 😁

So a few days ago I put a post in here as I found online a Macbook Pro M4 with 1TB Storage and 24GB Ram at a very nice price since it was refurbished (brand new purchase but just returned) after looking and comparing options I decided to cancel the order I made via eBay and go instead directly for an M5 Pro, 1TB and 24GB Ram in Silver since this is going to be my daily machine and I plan on keeping the Pro for the next few years. I managed to get this for a bit of a discount as one of my local stores.

It's also a shame Apple doesn't make the space grey colour on the latest Macbook Pro's as I always chose that colour.

Why did I move from M4 Air to M5 Pro?

Unfortunately as much as I love the M4 Air for it's portability, design and weight it overall is a fantastic laptop but I was getting back into video editing since this is my daily machine whilst also being used for some other side projects. I found the Air was constantly thermal throttling and getting very hot, therefore I couldn't record or edit my videos as it was just beginning to lag.

Overall?

Gotta say, I have missed the 120hz screen, it's a shame the Air only has the 60hz in today's specification but i'm pretty sure in future releases that will change.

The Pro works very well now, had the fans kick in a few times when it's under load but even with my Kensington external docking station, my 2 monitors now also natively run at 120hz without issues.

Definitely glad I made the jump back to the Macbook Pro overall.

So for context:

Currently got a Macbook Air M4, 24GB and 512GB storage, bought back in December 2025 moving away from an M2 Pro, I have to admit I do absolutely love the Air, the weight of it is just great and handy for travelling and I know this is pretty much the same apart from having the fans for the CPU and 120hz so why did I purchase the Pro model?

I've recently gotten back into video editing and recording on my Macbook, however the Air was just not handling it very well. Recording directly on the laptop and running a VM was heating up the chip causing it to thermal throttle or just lock up completely. So I thought moving to the Pro would be a better decision since it has fans to allow it peforming as it normally does.

I also get the VAT back since buying through a business so overall this cost me £1129.60.

Did I get a good deal for this spec?

Edit: Argos also mentions it was just an open box return and pretty much in brand new condition.
