When rewatching does anyone find season 2 particularly hard to watch and just skip it? The Applewhite story line was just hard for me. Especially the way they treated Caleb and so I just can’t do it and normally skip this season. Anyone else?
I’d like to know how to be a better parent and understand my child better. I’m hoping understanding her chart will help with this.
Bear with me. This is a long story.
I was assaulted, and six weeks later I found out I was pregnant. Less than two weeks after that, Roe v. Wade was overturned. Because clinics were overwhelmed with patients traveling from states that had lost access, it was going to take eight weeks to get an appointment. During that time, I ultimately decided to keep my child.
I didn’t immediately accept that I had been assaulted. I made excuses for him for months. Then one day I asked him why he did it, and he said, “If you didn’t want it, you would’ve run away.” That was the moment I realized it wasn’t a misunderstanding, I should’ve known when he held me down but I wanted to believe the best in him.
I filed a restricted military assault report (it’s an option for military to classify the report in real time and to get support without going through the legal side) because I was afraid of retaliation and didn’t want my daughter to grow up knowing her origin story. After she was born, he reappeared, I tried to make it work, and he filed for custody. I tried to move forward, facilitate a relationship, and avoid turning everything into a battle.
Instead, a custody case that should have ended quickly dragged on for over a year. During that time, I dealt with threats, complaints, investigations, and eventually my restricted report became unrestricted after a counselor reported concerns for my safety. To this day, multiple aspects of how everything was handled remain under review.
In June 2024, the custody judge specifically found that the assault occurred. Despite that, he received a step-up parenting plan, including substantial parenting time if he chose to exercise it. The problem is that he rarely does. I now live across the country and spend significant time and money coordinating visitation. He is supposed to provide notice before visits and contribute toward daycare costs, but he stopped paying daycare in September 2024. He typically sees our daughter only once every few months, has largely stopped calling her, and I haven’t heard from him directly since March despite him being active online.
What I do hear are insults. I’m regularly told I’m crazy, ridiculous, toxic, or his most recent favorite is that I’m illiterate.
I’m soooooo exhausted. I want to file a modification so the court order reflects the amount of parenting time he actually uses. I want stability, predictability, and to stop spending so much energy facilitating a relationship with my daughter he doesn’t seem interested in maintaining unless he gets to degrade or watch me. The problem is that there is still an ongoing military investigation related to the assault, and I’ve been told pursuing a modification now means they will not take it to trial. So I’m stuck waiting while everything feels like it’s on hold. I never wanted any of this. I just wanted to move on with my life and raise my daughter. What would do I do? If something doesn’t make sense this has been almost nonstop for 4 years. I can fill in gaps or be for specific if needed. I just didn’t want this to be too long.
Hello, I’m new to life insurance but feel it is important. However, after getting a few quotes, I’ve received completely conflicting information about what path to take. I’m 28 and have a three-year-old. My plan was to buy a small whole life policy and pay it off in 20 years, then purchase a larger term life policy just in case. I was also considering getting my child her own small life insurance policy so she has it, as most juvenile plans seem to be under $50k I thought it might be helpful for her at some point. Is there any advice you can give? Does my plan make sense, or am I going about this all wrong? My financial knowledge is limited, but I’m eager to learn and better understand.
