710267 is seen arriving at Crouch Hull on 2J33 22:50 Gospel Oak to Barking Reverside, London Overground service.

Seen at Custom House on 6L01.

It has been reported by Modern Railways and Rail Magazine that it is proposed to split the TfW 158 fleet in two, all in service 22 class 158s with TfW will be leased by GWR with four of the 22 units subleased to Northern, with the 2 units from Taleriddig reformed into a single unit leased directly by Northern. TfW 158s are to have the ETCS system removed during handback.

GWR = 18 which will be based at Bristol St Phillips Marsh and will replace IETs on Inter-Regional services and other services like Cardiff-Pompey to remove Turbos from. The existing GWR 158 fleet are based at Exeter and will remain there.

Northern = 5 units, with unknown operational area.

Due to Kensal Green being knocked out all power is being supplied from Didcot Feeder station which is some 50 miles from Paddington so to prevent overcurrent protection from being set off and then losing all power to Wotton Basset. Some 85 miles out of Paddington. This is also why GWR IETs will be operating in diesel mode under the wires to reduce current loading for the 387s and 345s which can't operate without the 25kv.

Well I have created a map showing them, however some stations only getting limited service with not all trains calling there and these are shown differentially to all stops. London to Bedwyn would normally be DOO however due to lack of 800/802s to operate the direct services it is split in two at Newbury with a 165 in DOO to Bedwyn and a 387 in DOO to Paddington.

Iver - On train a night each way the 00:48 London Paddington to Reading and the 04:35 Reading to London Paddington.

Didcot Stopper:
Slough - During AM Peak skipped on trains heading to London and PM peak skipped on Trains to Didcot, with trains stopping at all other times.

Long distance 387s are DOO to Didcot Parkway where they will pick up a guard to head west or drop off the guard to head East. All IET workings outside Oxford Fasts and normal Bedwyn to Londons are Guard operated throughout the service.

From today for a period of 8 weeks Tuesday-Thursday there will be 4 trains per day between Kidderminster and Bewdley for national ticket holders to use. With tickets between Kidderminster and Bewdley being £2 singles or £3.60 return with through ticketing to Birmingham Central stations for £16 return from Bewdley. Services are operated by Severn Valley Railway for West Midlands Railway using there heritage fleet of steam and diesel rolling stock.

33053 is seen at Swanage in the middle of its run around having worked 2N49 15:45 Norden to Swanage was returning on 2N52 16:30 Swanage to Norden.

On the weekend of the 28-29 of November TfL's six month look ahead has Elizabeth Line completely suspended in the London area with only services operating between Reading and Maidenhead. Network Rail is saying due to engineering works on the Great Eastern Mainline out to Shenfield, on the full CCOS (Crossrail Central Operating Section), Heathrow Branch and in the Slough Area.

Today and today only due to planned engineering works on the district between Stamford Brook and Earls Court the Piccadilly Line is calling at Turnham Green to provide a link to central london. The planned engineering works finished early but piccadilly Line will remaining calling at Turnham Green to end of service tonight.

EMR had the option of CAF Civities, Stadler SMILES or Hitachi AT300-SXR (Class 810).

The AT300 is the family name for the 395s and 80Xs, with S standing for short at 24m rather than 26m coaches and XR stands for extended range with 1,500 litre fuel tank. With the requirement to match a 222 timings from London to Sheffield on all engines and not to lose more than 3 minutes on one failed engine.

Who else gets confused between the two SWML?

SWML stands for South Western Mainline out of London Waterloo to Woking, Amzingstoke and Southampton before ending up at Weymouth and South Wales Mainline which runs through the Severn tunnel to Newport and Cardiff Canton.

Seen working 2J67 the 14:26 Bradford Interchange to Leeds service.

The power failure occured at around 12:00 BST. Due to this Elizabeth Line services will be opetating on Both Mains and Relief lines, as the Down Relief through Ealing Broadway is shut.

Update 14:30 BST = Disruption expected until 19:00 instead of 17:00. No GWR service from/to Paddington will call at Twyford, Maidenhead and Slough.

Update 15:50 BST = Some Great Western Railway London to Oxford shorts will be cancelled and Heathrow Express operating a reduced service of two trains per hour. Customers are recommended to travel via other rail companies services over certain routes with ticket acceptance, at the time of travel according to National Rail or TfL Go.

Update 18:00 BST = Disruption expected now to end of day, Elizabeth Line Passengers from Reading / Maidenhead / Heathrow Airport to the following stations will need to either take an alternative route or change at London Paddington and circulate:

Southall

Hanwell

West Ealing

London Paddington (Think they mean Acton Mainljne but National Rail put London Paddington).

Final Update 01:00 BST Friday 14th = Normal running restored. 9W46 was detrained due to the power failure.

Thameslink Core failure, due to a track Circuit failure on platform 1 at London Blackfaris services where heavily reduced in the evening peak from the regular 22tph down to 6tph. With regular signals being unable to be cleared they used the Proced on Sight Authority (PoSA) signals which are two white lights at 45 degrees which flash to tell the driver to pass the signal at danger. This is much faster than having the driver call up signaller to pass signal at danger. 6th of November 2024

The first reveune passenger trains on East West Rail will be operated by Great Western Railway on the weekend of 28 and 29 of November, operating every 30 minutes between Bristol and London Euston via Milton Keynes Central.
