How tf are you guys reaching local business owners?

man im kinda stuck on outreach rn and idk if im just overthinking this whole thing

im selling an ai receptionist to local businesses like hvac and roofing

but outreach is confusing me

cold email seems good but when i put a tight icp in apollo my actual market becomes pretty small like 1.5k to 2k leads max per niche

and for some reason that feels too small to me if i wanna do cold email at scale

maybe im thinking about tam completely wrong idk

then cold calling is another headache

im calling the numbers from their website or google maps and like 98% of the time some receptionist/gatekeeper picks up

owner isnt here
send an email
we are not interested
click

sometimes they dont even let me finish what im saying lol

direct owner numbers would obviously be better but that data starts getting expensive really fast and i dont wanna burn money before i even know whats working

so now im sitting here thinking what even makes the most sense

do i just cold email the 1.5k-2k good leads and not care that the list is small

do i keep calling main business numbers and just get better at dealing with gatekeepers

or do cold email first and then only call the companies that opened/replied/showed some interest

or am i doing this completely wrong and theres a better way to sell this to local businesses

if anyone here has sold to hvac roofing plumbing type businesses would love to know what actually worked for you

because rn it feels like every outreach method has some stupid problem attached to it lol

How ahh are you guys actually reaching local business owners?

man im kinda stuck on outreach rn and idk if im just overthinking this whole thing

im selling an ai receptionist to local businesses like hvac and roofing

basically it picks up after hours/weekend calls, talks to the lead, qualifies them and books the appointment

the offer makes sense in my head because these businesses can literally lose jobs just because nobody picked up the phone

but outreach is confusing me

cold email seems good but when i put a tight icp in apollo my actual market becomes pretty small like 1.5k to 2k leads max per niche

and for some reason that feels too small to me if i wanna do cold email at scale

questions confusing me

am targetting hvac contractors, so targetting 24/7 contractors is worth? i mean they might not have problem of missed calls, schedules etc

how you decide niche and when to move on?

what would be the best opener

i am using google maps, is this good for lead generation?

on a average after how many calls do you usually get a appointment or client?

Should i Spend my Entire savings as a 18 Year Old?

Hey, i am thinking to do cold call to US Businesses (sub niche is decided)
i am going to buy cloudtalk and leads from apollo
I have almost 300$
will get almost 1000 phone numbers (filtered)

If you were starting from scratch with only $300 today, would you:

  • Spend it on this setup?
  • Change anything in my plan?
  • Use a different lead source or dialer?

I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has actually built clients through cold calling.
