Does anyone go to Long John Silvers?

They’ve always sort of been there, but I’ve never heard of anyone actually going. I assume they’re at least good, but it’s nothing I’ve ever been in the specific mood for. I wonder if they’d do better with a UK theme fish and chips kind of deal instead of the Gorton‘s fisherman motif.

Why wear a neck tie?

They’re uncomfortable. A pain to tie and keep checking. Serve ZERO functional purpose. And if it’s a bow tie, it makes you look like a doof.

It’s just some persons subjective opinion on what looks “professional” or “formal.”

Cooking in Cleveland

One name that hasn’t been floated around enough, IMHO, is Russell Wilson. But it would be a win win for everybody.

Deshaun is a Pro Bowler when not injured, but that’s few and far between. This is where Russell joins the equation. He could be a backup and mentor to Shadeur, but get plenty of quality starts too. If I’m Shadeur, I’m frothing at the mouth just to get into his mind.

Plus, his wife, a musician, will be near the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, making it more of a convenience for them.

Additionally, Russ would probable love to flash another Superbowl ring to the Broncos, could you imagine a Browns-Denver AFC championship with Russ starting? The fans would go bananas!

The “I have a right to…”. crowd

I’m talking when someone is doing something that makes others irritated or uncomfortable, and then when confronted about it, fall back to “I have a right to do this,” or “this is my right.”

First of all, usually the subject at hand isn’t a “right,” like it was granted in the Bill of Rights. Loud music, loud cars, loud everything is not a right. You are subject to all kinds of local and state laws. If you want maximum freedom, you generally should aim towards owning a ranch on 100 acres in the middle of nowhere.

Second is that your “right” shouldn‘t infringe on someone else’s right. Generally, most states give a “right of quiet enjoyment” of your home, not a “right to do whatever you want.” But really, “quiet” is part of the right, not the noise.

Third, you’re basically saying “out of principle” and negating any chance at a compromise. “it’s my right so I shall do it.” You’re going into your own trench there, because the people complaining are also trying to exercise their rights.

We don’t do enough for the wrongfully accused.

I’m not talking about wrongful conviction, which is on a whole other level, but people who were accused by a liar, or overzealous officer, etc.

The threshold to get arrested is extremely low. If I cut hand mowing the grass, then call the police to to tell them my wife did something to me, in my area one person must leave in cuffs for DA. So, I could get my wife arrested on that scenario alone.

Once she’s arrested, she has to hire an attorney, her name will appear in public, she may lose her job. and then she has to wait in anguish for months on end.

Lawsuits are similar. it takes very little to at least force someone to hire an attorney. but at least there’s recourse with demanding attorneys fees due to frivolous lawsuits.

And even if the case is shoddy and dismissed, you still have the arrest on your record. How do these wrongfully accused people move on and get jobs? Dates?

If there’s substantial evidence, it’s going to get a conviction. But any random Bozo can get you arrested and it’s stuck with you for life.
