Any comments on HYSA Happen Bank ?

30F. Want to start a HYSA for emergency funds. Been reading and comparing so many options. Happen Bank seems to stand out because of the 4.00 APY with 250$ savings monthly. Which I can do.

But I haven't been able to find a lot of reviews or experiences of customers of Happen Bank HYSA in terms of customer service and transfers and procedures.

Looking for guidance. Thank you.

Failed twice in the US after having DL in two other countries

I feel so embarrassed failing my second driving test today. I have DLs from two other countries where I passed on first attempt and drove around pretty well. When I cam to the states I used the public transport. Now Im in a state where I cannot not drive. The worst part is, all the silly mistakes Im making on the test are mistakes I never made in all of the 12 practice hours I did. Im 30 fucking years old. I KNOW its my nerves. Im a safe driver. I was ig. I feel so stuck. Ive spent nearly a 1000 bucks for the driving instructor hours and two test attempts included.

Did anyone else notice this?

Someone follows Armand when he exits the concert after being humiliated. And then later, he senses Daniel following him and waves his right hand signaling the two behind him to leave.
His recruits?

Is that Assads voice?

In Episode 5 of Season 3, where Daniel is interviewing and recording the random Manhattanite which turns out to be Armand, theres a stretch where two voices overlap. The initial one being of the random Manhattanite, but the second, is that really Assad/Armand's voice? Because when the scene cuts to Armand on the bench, he sounds so different.

Armand's accent

Why is Armand's accent more English in Louis fight scene in season two episode five than in the finale episode in >!the butcher shop?!< Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Tenure-track faculty, teaching-only (no research record) — anyone gone through regular PERM (missed the special handling window)? Real experiences wanted.

My situation:

  • Tenure-track Assistant Professor, regional (non-R1) U.S. university, teaching + service only — no research obligation in the role, and no significant research/publication record to lean on.
  • We're past the 18-month window for EB-2 PERM "special handling" for faculty, so my university would need to run a regular PERM recruitment.
  • Currently on H-1B.

What I'm actually trying to find out from people who've been through this:

  1. Has anyone had their university run regular PERM (not special handling) for a teaching faculty position? How did it actually go — timeline, hassle, employer cooperation?
  2. In practice, how much longer did regular PERM take vs. what special handling would've taken, start to finish?
  3. Did your university push back on paying for the ad campaign/recruitment costs, or try to pass costs to you? (I've read employers are legally required to cover this; curious if that holds up in practice.)
  4. For anyone at a teaching-focused (not R1) university specifically, did the school have any institutional experience with PERM at all, or were you the first case they'd handled? How did that affect things?
  5. Any regrets, surprises, or "I wish I'd known X before starting" moments?

Just want to hear how the process actually plays out for people in real academic teaching jobs, especially at smaller/regional schools without big international-scholar offices.

Thanks for reading this far.

Document Abuse - i9 verification

I have my STEM OPT Receipt and Approval notification. However, the card itself is taking time. But the clock is ticking as my start date is July 1st. I have been in town at the new job's location for a month and have presented my EAD card (soon to be expired), and the I-20 endorsed by my DSO. They said it's not acceptable. I cited the handbook and asked them to check with the i9 specialists. It's been 3 weeks since then. Now they're ghosting. Im afraid they will rescind the offer.

Has anyone ever filed a Document Abuse case for refusing to accept I-9 documents as listed in the M274 Employee Handbook?

New TT faculty. Dept Chair being unresponsive?

I am an incoming tenure-track faculty member at a teaching-focused regional university, with a start date this fall.

In a welcome email sent about two weeks after I accepted the offer, the chair stated that they had only recently learned that I had been offered and had accepted the position. This struck me as unusual, as I had assumed department chairs are typically involved in or at least informed of hiring recommendations and offers.

Since then, I have emailed the department chair twice, approximately a month apart(end of spring and a month into summers), asking about my fall teaching assignments so I can begin preparing. I have not received a response to either email. It’s a 4/4 load.

Idk if I am reading too much into the situation or whether these could be signs of a departmental communication issue. I am concerned about potentially entering an unsupportive or dysfunctional environment, but I am unsure whether that concern is justified.

Any thoughts or advice?

Attorneys for RFE?

How do I go about finding the right attorney for responding to an RFE asking for very heavy details about initial OPT employment? I have all the 'evidence', I just don't know how to "document" it and how to respond. How do I find an experienced yet affordable lawyer?

Edit: I haven't got the RFE yet. Based on a couple of posts here and on f1visa, I expect an RFE. I worked for an NGO AND did an unpaid internship for the first couple of months. 😰

Do I need to upload stamped appointment notice even after the portal shows "response received and clock restarted"?

I applied for STEM OPT extension on April 14th. Gave biometrics on May 4th. The portal updated with "Response Was Received, and My Premium Processing Clock Was Restarted" and "We are actively reviewing your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. Our records showed nothing is outstanding at this time." right after my appointment.

There has been no update since then. Do I still need to upload the stamped sheet as evidence? There is no Respond to RFE button in the portal. Only the 'Upload Evidence' button in the 'Unsolicited Evidence' section.

Any advice? Anyone who had a case where uploading made a difference?

Does the St. George Public Library have workstations available for extended use?

Hello. Just moved into town and I'm setting up my home workstation, but it'll take about a week. In the meantime, I'm looking to work from the St. George Public Library. Does anyone know if they have computers/workstations available (I need a second monitor), and are there any time limits on use?

Moving items from thrift store. Options?

Hello all,
I'm moving to St.George next week. Unfortunately, I don't have a DL or a car yet. If I were to 'hold' items at a thrift store, what would be the quickest way for me to hire someone to move them for me? Most thrift stores only hold it for 24 hours. Do services like TaskRabbit work at St.George?
