Savings Bonds Gifted 25+ years ago - TreasuryHunt and maturation questions

Tried posting in r/bonds but no dice. I was gifted savings bonds over the years as a child. Mostly from grandparents. I have a sibling who received the same in the same way. Some were lost, never cashed, never claimed. Checking TreasuryHunt yielded positive results, and we both filled out the form and mailed them. Received a response saying the forms were received, the entire discovery process could be 11+ months. I believe the bonds had our own SSN #s on them, not grandparents. The bond amounts, from what memory serves, were $100 or $200 each.

I'm sure by this point whatever is left has reached the maturity age and stopped receiving interest. Based on interest rates, inflation (applicable?), what amount can I expect if TH does find several bonds?

Searching the names of grandparents yielded results, too. Unfortunately, they are long since deceased and I do not have their SSN #s obviously. How does this work exactly for searching other relatives or family members that are no longer living - Would this imply that my *grandparents* were given bonds at some point that were never cashed throughout their lives?

Savings Bonds Gifted 25+ years ago - What can I expect from Search & Discovery?

Like many here, I was gifted savings bonds over the years as a child. More on this below.

Is this process of discovery specifically for people who misplaced or simply lost saving bonds that were never cashed? I'm sure by this point whatever is left has reached the maturity age and stopped receiving interest. Based on interest rates, inflation (applicable?), what amount can I expect if TH does find several bonds?

Searching the names of grandparents yielded results, too. Unfortunately, they are long since deceased and I do not have their SSN #s obviously. How does this work exactly? Would this imply that my *grandparents* were given bonds at some point that were never cashed throughout their lives?

The site has repeatedly said for a while that the application for Summer 2026 is not available. Anyone know when this is going to be available to request?

My Summer semester already started and I was told that that the PHEAA Summer application is "always late" - what??
