Finished my Fox Body Race Car

Had to delete and repost due to spelling error… Might as well post some more photos and more info for you all.

The car was a factory Ford race car from back in 1982. It was originally built in this wide body configuration using corvette fender flares. The rear were lost in the mid 90’s so they have been replaced with Maier rear fenders.

The car ran GT1 for about 10 years, then was converted to a normal body SSGT car, then converted back to a wide body in the early 2000’s.

I got the car about a year ago and completely redid it. I have attached some photos of it back in the day and when I was restoring it. Even the paint was done be me.

It’s currently set up for CGT1 or group 10 SVRA.

It has a 363” Ford with a Tranzilla and 9” rear.

Finally got my Mustang Road Race Car finished

This car was purchased direct from Ford Motorsport and picked up at the factory in Dearborn in 1982.

The car then spent the next year being built into a GT1 car and first raced at Nelson Ledges in August of 1983. Unfortunately that was just in time for SCCA and IMSA to allow tube chassis cars in the GT1 category making the car immediately obsolete.

It’s incredibly rare as one of very few Race Car Specials sold to IMSA and SCCA racing teams between 1981 and 1984 and one the last non tube chassis GT1 car built.

The car has been a race car its entire life having been converted to several different categories over the years.

Now it has been completely restored and rebuilt with the best components and has been titled and registered for the first time in 44 years.

Still 100% legal for SCCA competition and fully race prepared…. All with a license plate!

With that, I’m looking for photos of the car from Nelson Ledges in 1983 to 1985. The car was red at the time… Please shoot me a message if you or someone you know may have photos from that time period at Nelson Ledges
