When I first started I bought a C. Did my part. Bought an A and a G. Ran with those awhile. Found for popular music an F and D worked well. Did those. Have a B flat. Don’t need it as much as I thought I would. So E for jazzy stuff I don’t really play and then what? Or would it be smart to E and B for the “effing B’s? If that’s how they work. I don’t remember exactly.

Well story time. So I was enjoying a couple games of pool, and having a couple beers with my son in a local establishment where my sister bartends. I keep a bag on me with amongst other personal belongings I keep my 3 set (A-C-Ct/G) Marine Bands. I’ve even posted pictures here. So at one point I apparently was too comfortable for my surroundings and someone took the case off the top of my bag. I alerted my son and the bartender and we looked around. When we couldn’t find it I sat there defeated and said I was just going to leave. My son said “Just wait here dad.” He the proceeded to “shake the tree” amongst the patrons and he returned in about 15 mins with a case of 3 Marine Bands. My son said he saw his Dad like that and decided he was gonna beat whoever’s ass he had to in order to get them back to me. This young man got the damn thing done. He is a real ride or die. I love my son.
