Hi everyone!

I’m in the market for a new (to me) car and I’m having a serious dilemma, so I’d love some honest opinions!

My requirements:

Budget: £25,000–£40,000

Ideally a 2025–2026 model, low mileage

Plug-in hybrid (petrol + electric) as I have a home charger
Something luxurious, elegant and sporty-looking

Preferably a compact SUV

A beautiful interior is really important to me

Good reliability and reasonable maintenance costs

I’ve spent quite a bit of time researching cars and recently visited BMW, Mercedes and Range Rover showrooms.

Mercedes GLA: Completely ruled this out. I was really underwhelmed by the interior, and discovering the Renault connection with the petrol engine didn’t particularly appeal to me either.

BMW X1 xDrive25e: I actually really liked this in person. The technology, electric range and practicality are all appealing. My only hesitation is the exterior. I really don’t want something that looks too boxy or like a generic family SUV.

Range Rover Evoque P270e: Absolutely love the styling and luxurious interior. It’s probably closer to the aesthetic I’m looking for. However, I’m concerned about Land Rover’s reputation for reliability, potentially expensive repairs and the relatively limited electric range.

The BMW 4 Series really appeals to me aesthetically, but unfortunately it isn’t available as a plug-in hybrid.

Essentially, I want something sleek, sophisticated and a little sporty. I don’t want to spend £40k on a car that ticks every practical box but doesn’t excite me when I look at it!

My questions:
Between the BMW X1 PHEV and Range Rover Evoque PHEV, which would you choose and why?

Are the Evoque’s reliability concerns genuinely as bad as their reputation suggests, particularly for newer models?

Are there any other beautiful, luxurious plug-in hybrids I should consider within my budget?

Would you prioritise a newer car with lower mileage or a slightly older, higher-specification premium model?

I’m UK-based and would particularly appreciate opinions from anyone who owns or has driven these cars.

Hey everyone

I’m getting my Case Study result today and I am genuinely terrified!!!!

I know there are probably loads of us refreshing, overthinking every answer we wrote, convincing ourselves we’ve failed and generally losing our minds.

But I just wanted to say that whatever happens today, we are going to be okay!!

This subreddit has honestly been amazing throughout the whole ACA journey. Whether it’s people answering panic questions at midnight, comparing exam answers, reassuring each other after a horrible paper or just collectively losing it while waiting for results (!!!) it genuinely makes the whole thing feel a lot less lonely.

Today also feels like a bit of a reset for me personally.

Whatever is sitting behind that results button, I’m ready for the next chapter.

So good luck everyone!!

I really hope we all get the news we’re hoping for. But whatever happens when we open those results, we’ll get through it together!

So this was my resit...I came out of the exam feeling like I did better than I did last time...

Executive summary - copy paste from R1-R3

R1 - pretty complete (I think?)

R2 & R3 - I now don't even remember which was which but I got one of the calcs wrong, but went with it. I wrote as much as I could, and also used ACA Masters a lot.

Last time, I got 40! I finished 15mins early!!! This time, I ran out of time by 5 seconds!

I have FM left to sit (in 2 weeks) and obviously I've sat a lot of exams before this one...I never got too stressed before results day...but for some reason, Thursday's results have got me almost paralysed. I can't think of anything else, and I am so so stressed...24/7!

I know, that of course, at the end of the day, it is what it is....but I would be lying if I said that this time around I am anything less than terrified.

Basically I’ve been in a long term relationship for 4years now and on the surface everything is great. I am a 33yr old and he is 38.
However, I know that when away, my bf will look at photos of his ex (they were together for 5 years and broke up 4 years before we met). I just know he does this, not every day…but whenever he’s on a business trip. Yes, I’ve become insecure and I hate it! But is this a big deal? We are looking to buy an apartment together soon and I don’t know if I should just learn to live with this or not…although it does bother me a bit…

I am studying independently and failed Case Study in the last sitting with a mark of 43%!!

I didn’t do much question practice as I was focusing on the other advanced level exams.

I am now wondering whether I should purchase ACA masters courses…if so are the live tuition courses worth it? Or should I just use the videos?

Any advice would be appreciated!!!
