I'm moving out to college next fall but still want to keep fishing while out in the Midwest, i know it's completely different from southern california so I want to have a new combo that would be good for fishing one of the Great Lakes.

Based on what Ive seen on YouTube and just googling, does this combo sound good?

Piscifun Alijoz 300(maybe 400)

Okuma SST Casting 9' MH,Fast action, 2 piece

I have 60lb braid(about 300yds left over on a spool) and 40lb braid(maybe abt 170 yds), along with 10lb flouro and 20lb flouro for leader.

I was wondering if this combo could also handle the freshwater drum and Pike/Musky out there?

I also have some spinning surf fishing combos and a lighter baitcast combo I might be able to take with me aswell. (7' Medium, 1/2oz to 1oz, dk the action)

I'm planning on buying the Piscifun Alijoz 400 reel soon, what rod do you guys recommend to match it? I plan on using 60lb beyond braid(with backing ofc) and 20lb mono leader. I want to use it for bay fishing in SD, Huntington, Newport, etc. and maybe off some piers. I'm planning on using cut bait and/or lures from 1 to 4oz. I'm trying to stay under 150 for the rod.

Edit: ignore the fact im using backing and give me a rod that would work for what im trying to do please.

Anybody having luck at the pier or on the surf recently? I'm going tomorrow and I want to know what bait I should buy on the way out. I have shrimp and anchovies but ik muscle works sometimes. What are people catching?

You won't believe me but, I found this reel and a 8' rod at the beach in the shallows yesterday. I decided to take the reel apart and clean it out and give it maintenence. I put it back together the best I could using the blueprints provided by Avet, yet it makes a clicking sound when reeling in, and is harder to reel when drag is tighter. I tried finding videos on YouTube but no one has it for some reason. Any advice?

What's the best spot you guys have had luck in for keeper sized bass and Halibut(if you had any luck)? What bait did you use/lures?

I got some white 3.75in soft plastics, and some silver white jigs in 1oz and 3oz. I have shrimp, but I can also surf fishing a sabiki rig for bait or use mosquito hooks and shrimp.

I have two seated tickets I bought last week for 590, AXS now has GA tickets for 20 bucks less for two, would someone be willing to trade? I dont have the funds to buy the sell. I have tickets through the AXS app.

I'm going to hsi Vegas show and I am wondering if I should just spend the extra cash on floor tickets, or save some money and get seats right near the pit(almost half the price). I want to get VIP for either ticket to get in early to buy merch n whatever. Ive heard moshpits are dead and I've seen videos online, but I have hopes that Vegas may be dif. Ive been to a Lil Tecca show from Dopamine for my first concert so my mosh expectations are moderately high. Any input?

For those in Riverside or surrounding areas, we know how bad fishing at this park is. Today I used a bluegill head from one I caught there as bait, I hooked into a giant catfish, unsure what kind I think a channel, was easily 8lbs, as much as 13 to 15(had my 8ft surf rod bending like it was pulling a car). Sadly he broke off in tree trunks at the edge of the lake.

Anyways, this happened at 1pm, after that I had 0 bites, using chunks of the same bluegill and it's guts. I even changed spots. Any recommendations to catching these giant ones?

Edit: I fished from 12:30pm to 4pm for catfish, and like an hour before that for bluegill.

He offered to refund the money but now his account is bugged out and I can't open his profile and he won't message me. What can I do? Edit: This is how the scam happened, I made a post in the Don Toliver community asking if anyone had tickets, he DMd me saying he had some and gave a stupid chep price(70 each). I agreed to buy three but i wanted to know he had the tickets. He asked if I had chime or apple pay as a form of payment I said I only had zelle. I requested that I send 25 bucks first then he sends the tickets then I would pay the remaining amount. He upped it to 100 and I said okay. When I tried sending 100 to the email he provided it wouldn't let me complete it. He provided me a phone number, didn't work. I said let's try it the next day. Next day he gives me a new number to try, doesn't work. So I call my bank because by trying these transactions it paused my zelle account and the 2nd number. The 50 goes through and I insist that he sends me a ticket so I know he has them. He never sends and keep arguing I should just send another 50 then he would send the tickets. He kept mentioning how he was tired or it was stressful. I said I wouldn't send more unless he sent a ticket. Then he said he would just refund me because it was too much. After I asked for a refund he ghosted me and the acc disappeared.

Hey yall, I made a post earlier this week asking to buy tickets for the Vegas show for my 18th. A guy reached out and offered to sell his at a great price(should've known by that) and we talked about how to do the transaction and I would get my tickets. I sent him 50$(Zelle) as a down payment and he asked for another 50 before he sent the tickets(we agreed on 190 for 3 tickets, 2 GA and one seated). I asked to receive one ticket before I sent the rest, after that he said he would refund the 50 and just end the discussion. He has yet to do that, and his profile is down.
