Ezra is definitely on the lighter side of the spectrum (can I say that?), since she only lost her eye but she did struggle a lot with vision and depth perception after the incident. She'd walk into walls and misjudge where things were so much so that Aizawa and Hizashi had to start baby proofing every sharp thing in the house to avoid Ezra from hurting herself.

Her vocal cords were slightly damaged as well, but you can't really notice when you first meet her. She has a slight rasp when she talks but it's especially noticeable when she yells at really loud volumes.

"You were never my mother."

The soft clink of dishes and running water echoed softly in the kitchen as Ezra cleaned up. Her hair was tied back in a tiny ponytail at the nape of her neck, her apron still on from when she cooked earlier. Shinsou had offered to help with clean up but Ezra had assured him that she could handle it. There was just something about cleaning up that helped put Ezra at ease at times.

Aizawa and Hizashi were lounging on the couch, some American game show playing in the background - something Hizashi probably dragged Aizawa into watching. It was their little Friday tradition. They'd take turns picking cheesy American game shows in hopes of finally getting Aizawa to learn English beyond just simple words. This week was Hizashi's pick and he chose The Price is Right, the bright set and clashing colors easily recognizable.

Ezra had never cared much for game shows, but she watch from time to time, if only to get a kick at the corniness of it all.

There was a soft knock at the door, almost hesitant, like it wasn't sure if they were at the right place. It was almost drowned out by the TV that Ezra almost missed it.

"I've got the door." Ezra called out softly, turning off the sink. She grabbed a towel and wiped her hands, taking off her apron and making her way to the door.

There was another knock, more sure this time.

"I'm coming, jeez." Ezra muttered, unlocking the door and cracking it open.

Ezra paused, locking eyes with the one woman she never expected to see again.

Tsumiko Takiko.

"Who is it?" Aizawa asked, looking up from the couch.

Before Ezra could answer, Tsumiko answered for her.

"I'm Ezra's mother." She smiled sweetly.

"What?" Shinsou asked, looking up from the table, homework forgotten.

"I'm Ezra's biological mother." Tsumiko repeated, looking back at Ezra for emphasis.

"Why are you here?" Ezra asked, her voice harsh and unforgiving as she just stared at Tsumiko.

Tsumiko didn't waver, her smile growing instead. "I realized how big of a mistake I made all those years ago and I wanted to make for lost time, honey."

Ezra wanted to scream. "I'm eighteen."

"It's never too late, hon." Tsumiko stepped forward, forcing Ezra to take a step back as Tsumiko let herself in.

"Miss, I'm going to have to ask you to leave" Aizawa was standing now, Hizashi following behind him as she kept stepping forward.

"Why are you really here, Tsumiko?" Ezra asked, her voice harsh.

"Why, to see you, of cours-"

"No. Why are you really here?"

Tsumiko didn't answer.

"If you don't have an actual reason, then leave." Ezra said, moving to shut the door.

Tsumiko stepped forward, almost fully inside the house now as she forced Ezra to step back. "I'm your mother, don't turn me down, Ezra."

"You're not my mother, you're the person I've had the misfortune of being related to." Ezra replied, her voice cold.

Ezra had only met her biological mother once, when she was 12. She had tracked her down after taking a DNA test and was greeted by one of her many boyfriends at the time. He turned Ezra down, threatening to come after her if she didn't get off their property while his kids watched from the couch.

"I'm only going to ask you once, leave."

(I really wanted to share this concept and there could've been more buildup to this but I like it so far.

I didn't want to this to be too long so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.)

Anyone here doing Artfight?

I don't know if many of you know what Artfight is, but it's a gift-giving art event that takes place every July.

This is my first year but I'm curious to see if anyone here is participating or knows what it is, at least.

New Ezra Character Sheet!

I've been adjusting to Krita ever since I got a screenless tablet and I'm very happy with how this turned out.

I also now have something else to reference instead of Ezra's old art, because oof, were they outdated.

Anyways, what do you all think?

To top off Pride Month, how did your OC meet their partner (if they have one)?

I have another OC in the works who eventually gets into a qpr with Ez, but I haven't fully fleshed him out quite yet.

His name as of right now is Kaz Kitoko, and like Ezra, he's also aroace.

He's a third year support course student, and he met Ezra in their first year after she came by to have her goggles fixed. Ezra had a made a crude version of Aizawa's goggles to try and test out, changing a few things to make them her own as well as improve them but her sad prototype didn't last too long. She had swung by the lab and ended up chatting with Kaz for a while before finding herself coming back just to chat with him.

They became close friends by the end of their first year and remained that way for the rest of their school time before they got together in a qpr about two years after they both graduated.

For those who don't have partners, I raise another question: Why isn't your OC dating anyone and if you want to, share their identities.

What if Shinsou and Ezra swapped places?

I don't have any art of them to share just yet but this idea has been forming for a while now and I figure to finally put my milanote account to use for once.

Instead of Ezra being dropped on Aizawa's doorstep at the age of three, her mother decides to wait a couple years before finally putting her into foster care after she "started acting like a brat". If you've seen a couple of my posts, I briefly mention how shitty Ezra's mother is. Now, she's shitty in every universe.

Ezra is deemed a problem child by her social worker, who has no interest in actually finding a home for Ezra and treats her like trash. Because she was deemed as a problematic child by her bio mother, every family Ezra is taken in by treats like one, locking her in rooms, barely taking care of her and sometimes physically abusing her if she slips up.

At school, she's bullied relentlessly for how lame her quirk seems without training, how vampire-like she looks. She gets mock crosses, wooden stakes, and holy water in her locker while other kids refuse to let her into classrooms unless she asks.

She trains on her own, building up her eyesight (which is normal since she never got attacked by Clawed Menace) and tolerance, doing her best to build up her muscle mass and hopefully meet UA's requirements. Like canon, she gets into General Studies and prepares to transfer after the sports festival, after Aizawa approached her soon after. He also has no clue Ezra is his biological child. He helps her train, much like he did with Shinsou in MHA canon, and eventually fosters her after he realizes she was in the system. He and Mic eventually adopt her toward the end of her second year.

Shinsou, in this AU, is thirteen, three years younger than Ezra. He was put in the foster system when he was four but was shortly fostered and adopted by Aizawa and Mic a couple years later.

In this AU, he's the one attacked by the Clawed Menace, the villain that attacked Ezra in canon. Shinsou loses his left eye and gets heavy scarring on his eye and mouth, not his neck like Ezra.

He does his best to train for UA shortly after starting middle school, ignoring the bullying since he actually has someone (Aizawa and Mic) to talk to about it at home. (Yes, they're enraged about the bullying but do their best to prevent it).

Essentially, this AU is based on the headcanon that Shinsou was abused in the foster system in MHA canon and swapping him and Ezra.

Sorry for the long rant, but let me know what you think or your questions!

I need some feedback...

So I have a ROTG longfic set up and I'm about 7 chapters in. I like the way the plot is going and how everything is panning out but since I don't get very much feedback, I've been backtracking a lot and now feel a temptation to scrap my latest chapter.

I know fanfiction is manly for self-enjoyment but I can't help but worry and would like at least some feedback on the story, even if it's just a short comment saying someone liked it. I don't upload often, which could be why I don't get very many comments, but I was wondering if anyone on this sub would be interested in reading it.

Sketchbook spread of Ez + another QnA

I finished this spread of Ezra a while ago and thought I'd finally share it. Sorry that it' stuck sideways, though. :/

Anyways, it's been awhile and I figured another qna with Ez would hurt.

What are your questions for Ez?

u/Existing-Ad-2856 — 19 days ago

Saw several posts on this and just had to jump on the band wagon.

I haven't drawn any new Ezra art since I've been busy with some more personal pieces for Father's day but thought I would hop on this trend.

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here and a few things have changed for Ezra, but not much.

Her info is here.

Nomu Ezra Concept Art!

I've been thinking about this ever since I saw some art on Pinterest of Nomu Aizawa and Hizashi. It's also been something I've been debating for an AU, one where instead of Oboro being taken, it's Ezra much later. I think I'll make a separate post on that though.

Anyways, I've yet to fully flesh out the backstory behind nomu Ezra but the general idea is that instead of the villain attack that took her eye in her canon universe, she was taken by AFO after he found out what her quirk was. He needed someone to stand by Shigaraki and someone to watch over him since Kurogiri isn't present in this AU. She was kept alive while being tested on to help maximize her potential, so more eyes and enhancing her senses so her vision is sharper.

When her quirk isn't active, it appears that she has no irises while deep discolored spots take place of the eyes on her body. When it's active, however, eyes will open up all over her body and start looking around and locking onto whoever they can see. While Ezra - who is renamed to Hikaru, which partly means glowing eyes (I used google translate, someone please give me a better option, TnT) - usually wears a suit, she will wear something forgiving if she knows she's going into battle.

(Also Toga started styling and painting Ezra's nails the best she could once she joined the league.)

More Ezra art!

I recently got a screenless drawing tablet and I'm now using Krita instead of Ibis Paint, so I used Ezra as my test subject. I'm still adjusting to Krita and how the tablet works but I'm really proud of how this came out. I spent a while just deciding on what to draw and I eventually settled on drawing Ez, who is one of my favorite OCs at the moment.

Speaking of OCs, I'm working on another OC that could become a potential love interest for Ez or a close friend, at most. I don't have him exactly panned out quite yet but he's coming, I promise.

Anyways, enjoy your day/night!

Finally got around to finishing it!

I offered to make art for u/Appropriate-Sun-362's OC, Yami Shinrai, a while back and now I finally got around to doing.

I've been a bit busy and this definitely could've turned out so much better but I really didn't want to delay this any more. I might go back and redo this and I might not but I also did provide the GL2 model I used as reference.

I feel....guilty

This is how I imagine Ezra feels after the Jaku incident.

Even though logic tells her otherwise, she feels like she could've avoided Aizawa's injuries if she's only done something better or if she was faster. She feels guilty for something completely out of her control.

She actually had a really bad panic attack after seeing Aizawa in the hospital, scratching deep into her scars on her neck and eye until it bled and just kept scratching, locking herself in the nearest bathroom (which was thankfully a private one, since it was linked to Aizawa's hospital room).

It took Mic a while to pick the lock and hours to calm Ezra down. She kept muttering to herself, one hand clamped on her mouth and the other scratching at her eye or neck and she eventually had to checked out and treated because of how bad her scratching had become.

She remembers the pain of having her eye clawed through all too well and she feels guilty for "making" Aizawa go through that pain.

This is a relatively mild mental representation of that.

(I also just realized that I flipped the canvas and never flipped it back so now everything is on the wrong side. 🤦‍♂️)

What is something your OC is extremely self conscious over?

I'm not talking, "oh, they don't really like how their hips look." or, "oh, they hate how tall they are."

No, I'm talking about something they hate about themselves so much that they've done insane shit because of it. They actively want to get rid of it and hate when people mention it.

For Ezra, that's her scars.

She was attacked around the age of eight, (I won't go into full detail) and she lost sight in her left eye and was left with deep scars on her eye and neck.

She hates them and early on, after the attack, she scratched at the scars whenever she was stressed or anxious, which made them worse. It was a hard habit to break, since she couldn't even get close until middle school when Aizawa and Mic started to notice.

Even so, she still hasn't broken it and when she is extremely stressed or has had a big dip in her mental health, one glance in the mirror is enough to cause her to scratch until she bleeds.

Her biggest outbreak was after the Gaku incident, where she had a panic attack during and after the battle because she knew she could've prevented Aizawa’s eye from getting skewed. It was so bad, it took Mic hours to calm her down after, then the nurses had to treat her scars after.

She's done a good job of finding other ways to cope but she still hates when people ask about her scars or brings them up.

Dad...?

"You really are so cool..." Shigaraki smiled. "Eraser."

Before Ezra could even register what happened, Shigaraki lurched forward.

No-

Without even realizing, Ezra had activated Erasure subconsciously, just like she had done countless times. She watched as Aizawa fell to the ground, his leg torn in two and his eyes blurred by blood - too much blood.

Not him, please...

"He's losing blood quickly, use the scarf to maybe-" Manual cried, his voice muffled in Ezra's ears. "Goddammit, how long is this scarf?"

Why?

"It's by his left shoulder..." Ezra blurted, referring to the end of Aizawa's scarf as she kept her eyes locked on Shigaraki.

Why did he have to suffer because of me?

Manual froze, realizing that Ezra still had her eyes locked on Shigaraki.

She kept copying All For One - specifically the one Shigaraki was carrying - while simultaneously using Erasure, something she hadn't done before. Using multiple quirks, let alone All For One with anything else, drained her quick.

"Nexus..." Manual started, calling her by her hero name.

"The end is by his left shoulder and the other is right on his back. He has some medical supplies tucked into his belt."

"Nexus...-"

Ezra thought of Midnight, her final message crackling through her comm before it went deathly silent for far too long.

For Mic, who would be even more devasted at the loss of Aizawa than she would be.

For Shinsou and Eri, waiting for them back at UA.

"Please....I can't lose him too."

Three months clean!

I quit around mid february and I haven't had any urges to touch the app ever since. I actually went to this subreddit for advice and found most of it very helpful.

I went cold turkey and ignored the urge any time it came up, doing something else or daydreaming in my head - which I already do often. I swatted the urge away whenever it came up and it worked.

I've been writing a lot more, reading more and just having more fun in general.

Out of curiosity, I visited the site and wow....it's shit.

If I didn't quit before, i would've now because damn....it's so shitty. (Which is good because I've always hated most AI "tools")

In this situation, Aizawa and Mic haven't told anyone other than staff that they're married, nor that they have adopted Shinsou and Eri, with Mic also adopting Ezra after they got married.

They kept it quiet because they know the students would go batshit insane over it and would never let them see another moment of peace over it.

However, Iida (assuming your OC is in class 1-A) lets it slip that they are married because his older brother took him to the wedding when Iida was around 5 or so. Ezra and All Might were in charge of training the first years at the time, meaning that after Iida let it slip, Ezra was bombarded with questions and attention. Poor All Might tried mitigating the situation with no success.

How does your OC react to the information, either made known by Iida or at some later time when the info inevitably spread through the rest of the school?

Assume that your OC knows Ezra some degree, whether it's from the sport's festival her first, second and third year, if you're part of the first years she helps Aizawa and Vlad train or other passing moments.

You're hit by a quirk that sends into an alternative universe for about a couple days to a week and you see Ezra.

Except she's different.

In this particular time-frame, it looks like she's in her first year in high school, so she's about two years younger than she is now.

The first thing you notice is her hair is all black. She's also donned in an all-black, crudely made hero costume consisting of a black sweatshirts, some elbow, forearm and knee pads, a small belt containing many things and spiked combat boots.

It's around night-time and she seems on high alert as she regards you with a sense of suspicion and mistrust.

It's clear that she's an illegal vigilante, and one with a rough past. Small bruises peek out from underneath her hoodie and her knuckles are bandaged heavily - either from fighting villains or excessive training. Whatever happened to Ezra in this universe was obviously rough and took a massive toll on her.

She's perched on a high building, regarding you warily from the other side as she waits for you to make a move.

How does your OC react to this situation?

(This is based off a post I saw earlier asking about AUs for your OCs.

In this AU, Ezra's mother never left and raised her with her shitty and everchanging regime of boyfriends. Half of them are abusive and the other half are good men who leave because Ezra's mother is a shitty person.

Her hair is all black her because in the original AU, she dyed it to match with Hizashi after he and Aizawa got married. She still has her scars on her eye and neck, since that it what I've deemed to be her canon event.

She still retains her uncanny profiling ability and fighting skills as well.)

I was talking with my mom and the topic of me being confused about it anything came up (basically what she views as being in the closet) and I told not really and not I just identified as aroace.

I told her what that meant and she went on a bit about how I haven't met the right person and how I'm still growing.

And she did make some good points, like how I'm part of the minority here and I just haven't found my type.

I don't think she's being intentional hateful but rather she just doesn't understand some identies.

She's fine with non binary and Trans people (and other among the lgbtqa+ community) but when I also mentioned considering she/they, she was slightly confused. She said why not she go by she/her if you identify as feminine if you're not non binary?

She's a sweet woman with an rbf, I won't lie, but I think she just doesn't understand certain labels and in turn, accidentally being...rude? (Idk what to call it). She's also the older side so I don't blame her for anything but I do feel a little disheartened about it.

Advice?
